Shell: No Beaufort Sea drilling in Arctic for 2011

Shell Alaska has dropped plans to drill in the Arctic waters of the Beaufort Sea this year and will concentrate on obtaining permits for the 2012 season, company Vice President Pete Slaiby said Thursday.

The recent remand of air permits issued by the Environmental Protection Agency was the final driver behind the decision, Slaiby said at a news conference.

Alaska receives upward of 90 percent of its general fund revenue from the petroleum industry,

Republican need to pass an “Emergency Energy Act of 2011” Shutting down EPA over-regulation, open Alaska north slope and offshore drilling, and fast track nuclear energy plants.

Let’s see the Democrats and Obama stall on this while people are in the dark and freezing.

No problem... the Russians, who aren’t hampered by enviro-whacko governmental overlords, can drill it for us. If we beg nicely, perhaps they’ll let us buy some of the oil... at a premium price, of course.

I truly hate this ruling socialist cabal with every fiber of my being.

Let’s see the Democrats and Obama stall on this while people are in the dark and freezing.

What they'll do is allow just enough limited drilling in mid-2012 to drive down fuel prices in order to appear heroic just before the election.
