Every once in a while when Chris Matthews isn't idiotically railing on Michele Bachmann, and Sarah Palin, and lately Glenn Beck, says something interesting, or at least out of character.
Case in point: This morning he popped up on Morning Joe for a Lent segment during which he strongly criticized America's reaction to the Egyptian uprising and Obama's treatment of Mubarak.

I’m ashamed as an American of Chris Matthews too.
I do believe most people are beginning to realize that Obama is an embarrassment, even jerks like Matthews. Today I have noticed that the tide is turning in favor of Mubarak staying.

I think the State Dept., like every other agency or institution, has essentially been shut out of what is becoming an increasingly executive-controlled government. It's controlled by Obama and a handful of unelected (and probably even unknown) "advisors," who make and enact policy all on their own.
It was clear at the very start that Hillary was merely a figurehead, with no power whatsoever; in fact, she didn't even get to go along on Obama's world tours or get to participate in them even remotely. L'etat c'est moi...

Many years ago I used to watch “Hardball” sometimes because Matthews mostly made pretty good sense. I even heard Rush say back then that Chris Matthews usually gets it right. Since then Matthews has steadily gone further to the darkside but once in a while he still has a flash of sanity.
Well America is ashamed of Obama anyway.

Years ago, before Olberman and Maddow joined MSNBC I would watch fairly regularly. Matthews wasn’t always this crazy. He used to be somewhat reasonable. After a while they went so far left and went crazy over obama. They wanted him just because he’s black. And he’s not even 100% black. I just don’t get it. The media is willing to spin things no matter what he does. It’s very sad what has happened to what used to be the “News”. They would rather he destroy the country for their very own children than admit they made a mistake with obama.
