It’s a little bit of both. If you look at these polls every single day, you are going to drive yourself crazy.
The better way to handle these things is to look at the trend :-)! Draw a line through those peaks and valleys on his approval ratings. You’ll see that it keeps going down. It’ll bounce all over the place during a short sampling period, but the trend clearly indicates eroding support.
I think the reason it isn’t a sharp decline is due to a fickle public. A lot of people invested a lot of “hope” in this man you know. They’re seeing the “change” they’re getting from that investment. Overall, they’re seeing that they made a bad decision.
