Media Targets Center-right Donors: Koch Brothers

A month ago we were getting lectures from the media and elites to ‘tone down’ the rhetoric that targets individuals, and now we’re being sold the line that everything anti-progressive is funded by two billionaire brothers.  Amazing that they think a few million dollars could so easily derail the tens of billions spent on global warming research, currently $4 billion a year from the feds.

Unable to comprehend the tea party, perhaps feeling guilty for having so poorly covered the underlying financial and budgetary topics that has led to the current depression, they instead follow their moronic journalistic reflex to “follow the money” and try and malign the millions of tea party activists by implying that they’re just marionettes held by the Koch brothers to line their pockets.

It shows just how bad journalism is that this is what they resort to, that they’re incapable of sanely describing and detailing diverse views and then attacking the source and not the idea, when they face a political force they don’t understand.  It’s even more ridiculous when they so clearly take one side in their news judgment and never do ten minutes of research and apply the same critical eye to their leftist friends.

....Each step in the development of the bourgeoisie was accompanied by a corresponding political advance of that class. An oppressed class under the sway of the feudal nobility, an armed and self-governing association in the medieval commune(4): here independent urban republic (as in Italy and Germany); there taxable “third estate” of the monarchy (as in France); afterwards, in the period of manufacturing proper, serving either the semi-feudal or the absolute monarchy as a counterpoise against the nobility, and, in fact, cornerstone of the great monarchies in general, the bourgeoisie has at last, since the establishment of Modern Industry and of the world market, conquered for itself, in the modern representative State, exclusive political sway. The executive of the modern state is but a committee for managing the common affairs of the whole bourgeoisie.....

Modern bourgeois society, with its relations of production, of exchange and of property, a society that has conjured up such gigantic means of production and of exchange, is like the sorcerer who is no longer able to control the powers of the nether world whom he has called up by his spells.....

The vast majority of people in my area and probably the rest of the country as well are so ignorant of the constitution and of basic American history that if you try to tell them that this country was never supposed to be a “Democracy” they think you are nuts. If you then tell them that in fact “Democracy” is possibly the worst form of government ever devised they KNOW you are crazy. Cap it off by telling them that the founders considered “Democracy” so despicable that it was almost a profane word and that is why they wrote into the constitution a guarantee of a Republican form of government and they are ready to call someone to lock you up.

I always think of Michigan’s 15th Congressional District as being the Dingell Family Plantation - taking care of the indigenous tax slaves for the last ~75 years.

If a just a tenth of the rest of American companies were run like Koch companies are run; we would not be in such a mess as we are now.
Dislaimer: I work for Charles Koch; and I am proud of it.

The Brothers Koch, while running the largest privately held corporate entity in the US, labored politically in relative obscurity for a long, long time .. now they are (if you will) targets of the left.

Funny how the left hates uber-wealthy folks UNLESS they’re liberal. Soros is ok; Lewis is ok; Heinz is ok; Koch not so much. I’d take being an ‘enemy’ of Van Jones as a compliment. The imbecile. Would these guys have a thing to say if they couldn’t throw out some version of the race card?
