DENVER -- A Centennial-based organization has canceled an up coming charity event featuring Sarah Palin, citing safety concerns.

The Sharon K Pacheco Foundation announced Saturday that the 2011 Patriots & Warriors Charity Gala scheduled for May 2 would not be held.

"Due to an onslaught of personal attacks against Governor Palin and others associated with her appearance, it is with deep sadness and disappointment that, in the best interest of all, we cancel the event for safety concerns," said the Foundation's Director.

Too bad they couldn’t pull it off. The location they chose for the event looks nice...

Well in the olden days of straight talk and no BS, in the Air Force, we’d call Sharon K. Pacheco CS. You old timeers know what that is. I wouldn’t put $0.02 in Msssssss Pachoco’s coffers for anything, how much is she racking off the “top”?

She's dead, died in '91.

I am concerned about those who pay little attention to what is being played in the Lamestream Media or talk radio. The Tucson rampage created a lot of attention and brought those who rarely watch the news turning on the Lamestream Media. It is then that the Left did their best to poison their minds against Sarah Palin. They did not and never will turn on Rush Limbaugh. However, it was that small window of time, when they did turn on the news, that the poison pill was sent.

It is the task of Sarah Palin to recover the loss of her good name in this country. That will be a hard task because those she has to reach are those who now tuned out. If I were Sarah Palin I would mount a historic attack on one of the most offensive players in the media for defamation of character. The tactics that unfolded during coverage of the Tucson rampage would be exposed before the entire nation. It would generate a lot of attention and tune in those who now tuned out. It would be an example for others who think they can get away from such slanderous tactics thinking that because it is political, they can say anything. It might strike a note among those who do tune out of the media because they see it as political hacks and yellow journalism.

I meant to say muzzle. It was in a mind muddled moment.

Oh, I did get it right. I figured. Usually it’s not too hard to figure out what someone means in spite of a typo.

That’s not so bad. Keeps me busy and out of trouble. ;-)

It is the task of Sarah Palin to recover the loss of her good name in this country.

Oh, Bullshit.

Just because somebody conducts a transparent smear campaign against you, that doesn't obligate you to do anything.

Responding to the smear campaign gives it credibility.

The people who hate Sarah Palin hate her because they know exactly who she is. She's the woman who can take their power away from them.

Now crawl back under your bed and wring your hands together wretchedly.

Denver is a definitely a Democrat stronghold, but I don't think the venue being in Denver had much to do with this. Sarah appeared in Denver last May and there was a huge turnout for her.

Something really smells about this cancellation, but I'm not sure what.

I wonder if this is another case where some overzealous organization announced Palin as a speaker (in order to generate excitement, sell tickets, and steal credibility under false pretenses) but nobody bothered to tell Palin about it?

This story has a stench to it. I’m not buying it.

Palin would never back out of an event in an American city out of “safety” concerns. First, there are too many Palin supporters who would gladly provide security on a volunteer basis, and second, Palin knows that the scumbag Democrat “mainstream” newsrooms would love to smear her as a coward, and she would not give them that chance.

By the way, I use the word “newsrooms” loosely - - they are, in fact, war rooms for the Democrat party.

May 2 is the day of the first debate. The cancellation means Palin is at least keeping her options open about running. The security thing they’re talking about is really something no one should be talking about.

May 2 - the day of the event - is also the day of the first debate.

This event was scheduled first. If Palin is thinking about running for President, she really has to cancel this event. Unless she was planning on waiting until after May 2 to announce. She’s keeping her options open.

What I’m surprised by is how Palin’s supporters here don’t seem to realize that they can say “I think Sarah’s running, yay” now. Everybodys attacking this organization, when they’re really don’t want to say “Palin cancels because it conflicts with the debate”. And now they’re taking heat for it.

Think “THIS MEANS PALIN IS RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT”

You’re the one who made an unsupportable claim. Live with it or quit telling lies - your choice.

"Just because somebody conducts a transparent smear campaign against you, that doesn't obligate you to do anything."

I don't see it as obligation, I see it as opportunity. Those who participated in the smear campaign are sitting ducks and many like me would love to see Sarah Palin have one of them for dinner.

That Sarah has not sent out a few lawsuits reflects on her being a much smarter player than I. Maybe picking up the monetary damages would not be worth the trouble. I for one would not care about the monetary gains. I would savor the moment of taking one of the Lamestream Media's overpaid talking heads out on a platter.
