The really telling thing is that conservatives stopped strongly supporting Bush when he did stuff we didn’t agree with. The Obama strong support isn’t capable of that independent thought.
Bush was sitting at about 30% approval when he left office, and was considered toxic. Obama is toxic also, but you won't read it in the press. There's a floor below which politicians won't go. The problem for Bush was that he went against the wishes of his constituents. The Bamster's problem is that the more he implements the desires of his constituents, the more the economy tanks.
A lot of the people who are mad right now are mad because the Obama policies do not bring about the utopia they envision. It's like they see a house on fire and insist on throwing gasoline on it, thinking the gasoline will extinguish the fire. When the gas makes the fire worse, their solution is that we haven't thrown enough gasoline on the fire, so we should throw more.
