George W. Bush to Pass on Switzerland Trip

Previous signs of “Miss me yet?” may have sprung up around various points in the United States, but in certain portions of Europe the 43rd president is still not getting a warm reception. After agreeing to assist in a charity event for a Jewish group in Switzerland, warning signs indicated that some left wing groups were preparing a decidedly hostile welcome for Bush and the trip had to be canceled.

President George W. Bush has canceled an event in the famously neutral country Switzerland because of expected protests to his presence there.

Bush was supposed to give the keynote address at a Jewish group’s charity gala on Feb. 12 in Geneva.

Leftist groups had planned to protest the visit, according to news agencies. But several human rights groups had also filed criminal complaints against Bush, demanding that he be taken into custody if he stepped on Swiss soil and investigated for allegations of ordering torture.

A right-wing member of the Swiss parliament also demanded last week Bush’s arrest on war crimes allegations if he came to the country, according to Reuters.

It was already pointed out to the organizers that, all protests aside, Bush’s status as a visiting dignitary and former head of state would have assured him a level of diplomatic immunity. None of that, however, would have lessened the negative effect of proposed demonstrations.

In the end, the most damage would not have been done to Bush, but to the charitable organization trying to conduct their fundraising. It appears that this was taken into consideration and the former president chose not to hamper their work by canceling the trip entirely. No indication was given as to whether or not the appearance could be rescheduled for a later date.

Bush saved Obama a headache. Obama would obviously love to see Bush tried for war crimes, and it would delight his base to see that happen, but as President he’d be under pressure to do something to stop it, and he’d alienate the majority of independents and non-political Americans if he sat back and did nothing but issue a tepid statement of disapproval.

Fine. . .let them have Algore and all the Leftie liars and scum. May they visit; stay, inhabit and reproduce more of their own kind.

A toast to moral reason and 'neutrality'/sarc: To Switzerland!

“plus to stand up to the left wing bullies and hateful bigoted thugs”

I went to the Glen Beck 9/12 event. As I reached the top of the hill coming down on the Capital, I saw a bunch of the SEIU purple shirts. But by the time the million-plus of us got down there remained only about 10 of them. They formed in a circle facing out, put their signs face down and avoided all eye contact; intent on making their hourly wage. They were stereotypic “muscle.” Any one of them cold have been a Hell’s Angele’s bar bouncer. It would be pretty much impossible to go up against a lot of these guys as I’m sure hurting you would not injure their conscience. One on one, you’d have to be pretty good not to get your *ss kicked.

Our best bet is to get their political thugs out of power, and then cut off the tax money and special rules that give their bosses the money to hire them.

....and Sarah Palin had to cancel an event because of threats from left wing groups. Seems to be a common thread here.

The only people more annoying, more ignorant of facts, more insidious than the Marxist Obama, are the “worldly” left-wing rabid zealots. I am including the disgusting and depraved American Media in that group as well.

In my view, no one needs an excuse for not traveling to most anywhere Europe. They can take their anti-American attitude and fight their own war next time. Ungrateful bastards.

Good! Glad he is confident in his own skin to be able to admit it is dangerous and therefore will not go. Why should he? He doesn’t need to anymore. Glad he is just enjoying hanging out at home. HE doesn’t need the attention like hilllereee, willieeee and obama.

Amen to that bigbob!!! Also, there are millions of beautiful places in our own country to see. What’s so wonderful about Europe? So, they have some nice castles (yawn) and am sure there are other nice things to see there and that’s OK too but...I prefer to see my own country first and foremost. Remember the old jingle???

“See the USA in your Chevrolet?” Still works for us!!!

I’ve had plenty of fights in and out of the ring and growing up on the street, they do not bother me at all .
Looks mean nothing, trust me on that, I’ve had it out wiht guys who think that because they’re bigger and uglier that they must be tough too.
A quick headbutt to their nose followed by a massive barrage of punches to the face and neck puts them down very quickly if they have not gone down just after the headbut but most do anyway.
I agree with you on the election process, we need to get rid of these people but the problem is that they are the media too.

The media have now just given up even [pretending to be neutral or fair Egypt showed us how they protected obama, MB and even though they were an ally who kept peace for deacdes in the region that never mattered to them.

They have their agenda they lie to the public and while they do it will be harder for us to vote these radicals , anti Americans anti west hateful bigots out

“I’ve had plenty of fights in and out of the ring and growing up on the street, they do not bother me at all .”

I’m 57 and although you can see my abs and I work out 4-5 times a week, and have for decades, I’d get my clock cleaned by anybody who knew how. Let’s not even talk about thinning bones, arthritis and a plethora of medical issues. That’s why I carry concealed and practice hard so I can put a bullet exactly where I need to. The average Tea-Partier, though, hasn’t been in a fight in 20 plus years. These thugs would use pipes, brass knuckles and no ethics. I have no illusions. Goons of any nature are going to have the advantage over us regular folks.

That’s why it’s critical to defund the b*st*rds. Arrest their allies for the many crimes they’ve committed and get them off the streets and back in bars (or behind bars) where they belong.

BTW, I’ll email you next time I go to Washington to protest. I’ll stick close. ;)

our biased media are a disgrace, i actually never thought they could have been more biased and corrupt as in the election but boy was I wrong when I saw how they covered and are covering Egypt.

It’s a damn shame that we have hardly anyone in the media now who knows what investigative reporting is.
If say Beck which uses their words and their signs, their manifesto to report on something the rest of the media get together , figure how to stop the truth from getting out and then attack the truth and facts on all fronts

It’s a disgrace and it is time that we marched and protested outside their stations demanding we want a fair and free press not same biased corrupted press who does the far lefts propaganda
