Blame it on former Governor Richardson whose actions severely affected the ability to drill and produce oil and gas, and on the feds with their restrictions on drilling on BLM lands.

On the other hand, Governor Martinez is not happy with the gas company:

Gov. Susana Martinez sat down with New Mexico Gas Company executives within the last hour to discuss the natural gas crisis. If her recent remarks to the media are any indication, the first-term Republican governor could have some harsh words about the company's response to the situation.

Following her remarks to a cultural gathering in the Capitol rotunda, Martinez told reporters Gas Co. executives had failed to deliver on a promise to have service restored by Sunday evening.
