Maybe you and I are watching different channels. If you were to judge America from most of our asinine drama/comedy shows, to say nothing of Hollywood, you would think that we were mostly white and upper middle class, with a few token, hip blacks seemingly integrated as the best friend. Hispanics and Asians are nowhere to be found, but Jews and Gays abound disproportionate to their actual numbers in the population.
I've had Asians, Eastern Europeans, and Latinos tell me how they thought America was overwhelmingly populated by tall, blonde, and prosperous people before they came here (hence when they tell me that I don't 'look American'). They are usually surprised when they come to any large metropolitan area, and see that this is no longer the case.
Madison ave means commercials...made to be everything to all folks....every class covered....and minorities the cool ones and whites stupid...especially men

It seems to be that most sitcoms were always about Jews come to think of it...in urban environments at least from the 80s on...before that Dick Van Dyke, MTM, That Girl, My Three Sons, Bewitched, Brady Bunch...damn it was everywhere really but mostly SoCal or NYC..or Hooterville..lol
I did see the remake of True Grit...thought it was remarkable..Bridges even outdid Duke..whom I adored
I have not watched regular TV programming since SOAP or Threes Company
was out of the US for nearly two decades and now it just seems like shite..so I don’t bother
Sopranos, Deadwood...House a few times...Justified with Olyphant(sic)...I like him..a young man with balls..at least it seems
