If I were in the prohibited classes, I sure wouldn’t think of Carrying, would you? Medical privacy rights prohibit disclosing the Crazies anyway. So, if you aren’t in the state bug house, you are good to go. Pother! ( and maybe even then)
Please excuse this non PC post.

Well, uh, I, uh ... let me non-answer that question by stating that I am, thankfully, not in any of those prohibited categories. Although I was in one at one time. I, very gratefully, got a .22 rifle for my 15th birthday (Thanks again, Dad, where ever you are. It is cleaned, oiled and in great condition.) and I carried that sucker out to the fields whenever I darned well pleased. Maybe it was legal to do so in 1970 but neither I nor my Dad gave it a second thought.

I'm not sure about that. Of course medical records are supposed to be private but if you are adjudicated to be mentally incompetent it is supposed to be entered into the national database so it would be flagged in a NICs check and I would think it would likewise show up if the police ran a criminal/background check on you. I admit I am guessing on the latter but it is a legal finding so it ought to be there. Not everyone who is or has been committed to a mental health institution has a legal finding of mental incompetency on them. The majority of those who are committed these days are there voluntarily.

Please excuse this non PC post.

Excuse it? I encourage it! ;-) lol
