Beck blew it big time on Wilders. Beck obviously did not know who or what he was talking about. Which is odd, because Beck had interviewed Wilders during Beck’s CNN stint.
Beck was probably just following orders, which is somewhat disappointing but certainly not surprising.
but I was alive then and my dad and grandfather were movement sympathetic and somewhat involved
MLK was no conservative...not even close...a socialist who aped nearly everything we today deplore except for some cool speeches much of which was lifted...I'm sorry..there are black heroes to be found elsewhere if one must..Beck is not the only one who trumpets the myth
To treat Teddy Roosevelt out of context as a pariah of history is never going to settle with me. Sorry Glenn.
that's just starters..
I already knew all the progressive crap he touts like he just uncovered for his often rapt audience..
I love some freepers here who admire Beck but to me he has an Oprah quality for the right leaning masses that I just can't stomach
Beck is right over half the time but he is just plain wacky.
He is another one of these sorts..who claims not to be a party man but tries to paint a picture that good stops where the GOP ends and that it has always been some straight line from the beginning.
I got news for him...there was a time the only social conservatives in America were Goldwater, Magnus, Buckley, Birchers ..a few other lesser known GOP and Dixiecrats. That was it.
History is not a big sound bite or platitude easily defined by party even if our side has more often than not been identified with the GOP.
Democrats actually have a substantially stronger claim to Thomas Jefferson than do we...are we gonna throw him under the bus with Teddy...our wayward Republican?
Not me...after Washington he is number two for me.
