Legislation to ban large-capacity gun magazines like the one used in the Jan. 8 mass shooting in Tucson has been introduced in the Arizona Legislature.

The bill was introduced late Monday by Rep. Steve Farley of Tucson and 19 other Democratic lawmakers.

The legislation would generally ban magazines with more than 10 rounds. Authorities have said the Tucson shooter opened fire with a magazine that had more than 30 rounds in it before he was subdued.

The left is clueless.
The criminal / insane murderer is responsible for the massacre, period. He could have used a car, a suicide vest or an illegal weapon to do his dirty deed. I suspect this is for show purposes only.....

High cap mags >10 rounds have generally been banned in CA for many years. While it would be illegal, I could get one anytime I wanted.

You have got to be kidding me, the socialist state of NJ, one of the most unfriendly 2A states allows a 15 round magazine.

Being that this is Arizona, the front line, I have no doubt that large mags will be very useful considering what is just south of them. This bill will go NOWHERE.

Better to ban small capacity magazines, like Time and Newsweek.

TOTALLY gun control. But the political fight is OVER, and we won. Pelosi would not even touch it after Virginia Tech (owning the House and Senate) and then after Obama was elected...owning all 3 branches of government (as Shumer would say). The only hope for gun control now is executive fiat.

Why do people pass stupid laws?

______________________________

Because too many of our citizens (and subsequently those we elect) think the government is the answer for everything.

Stupid and reactionary legislation like this is what our politicrats believe to be leadership. Everytime there is any incident of national interest involving a gun there is a host of politicians suggesting restrictions on firearms.

This young man was obviously twisted and sick and did not care about gun laws. He went there to murder and frankly he would have probably killed more people if he had rented a Suburban and drove it into the crowd.

Laws only apply to those who follow the law. The lawless among us don’t care what law they violate and there are already laws against murder and assault.
