So called “conservative democrats” in the Louisiana legislature are defecting to the Republican Party in numbers never seen before. The Repubs now are the majority in the Louisiana House for the first time since Reconstruction.

Also, the Lt. Gov and the State AG changed from Dems to Repubs recently. U. S. Senator Mary Landrieu is the only remaining state wide elected Dem. We are hoping that she will not seek reelection. She is a “Louisiana in Name Only” resident anyway because she built a $1.2 million mansion in D. C. several years ago. She only shows up in LA when it suits her political interests. She refused to hold town hall meetings during the Obamacare debate. She just didn't want to be confused by the facts.

She should read the tea leaves because she will not be reelected if we tea party types are successful.

I believe it only takes ONE election cycle (six years) for a US Senator to get a comfortable Congressional retirement pension. Someone correct me if that's not true. Quite inappropriate and hypocritical relative to the working citizens (that is, us) for whom they supposedly represent - which in Webb and Warner's case they do not.

Hence in one Senatorial election campaign an individual only need lie and deceive like a lawyer to get life's gravy. That was clearly true for Jim Webb who pretended to be conservative (gun rights, etc), then voted ala Obama, Reid and company once elected.

That is exactly why the principles of "conservatism," e.g. personal responsibility for all one's decisions, need to be clearly, ideologically, and definitively stated.

Mark Warner is an excellent political example - he was not a bad governor, when he was on the spot for executive decisions - but once Senator he IS a political party puppet. A truly disturbing manifestation of party (ala Communism, Nazism, Baathist, etc) politics. Democratic Party obviously (leftism), but Republican Party not far behind (fecklessness and self preservation).
