Some points. First off, the notion of the jogger being far more attractive than the wife is an opinion and I’m not sure how such an opinion of how these two individuals compare in physical appearance relates to any real and serious underlying character and behavior patterns.

Next, it is far reaching to describe a man who sneaks and eats junk food behind his wife’s back as “skulking” and I am very much unaware of black men in any way being stereotyped as “henpecked”.

Lastly, can you give evidence to the idea of a tendency for blacks to flee scenes after accidentally hurting people?

Let’s just get right to the point and stop wasting time, shall we?

Do you think the black couple in the ad were, in general, portrayed negatively?

If so, do you think that this portrayal reflected negative stereotypes of black people?

(Both Spacewoman Lee and I have answered yes to these two questions. That is why I said I partially agreed with her.)

Final question (if you answer “yes” to the above two questions): Do you think that this stereotype is completely unfair? That is, do you believe that the negative stereotypical behavioral traits that you observed being depicted in the ad are, generally speaking, no more prevalent among black people than among Americans of any other ethnic group?
