Palin: No 'problem' with gay group at CPAC
The Hill ^ | 10 Feb 2011 | Michael O'Brien

Posted on 02/10/2011 6:25:57 AM PST by Notary Sojac

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) said Wednesday evening she has no objection to the participation of gay Republicans at this weekend's gathering of conservatives in Washington.

Palin said she didn't see anything wrong with the participation of GOProud, a group of gay Republicans, at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), which runs Thursday through Saturday.

"I don't have a problem with different, diverse groups that are involved in political discourse, and having a convention to talk about what the answers are to their problems that face America," Palin said Wednesday on Fox News when asked about GOProud.

Palin isn't participating in the conference, and she's declined previous invitations, despite CPAC's role as a cattle call for possible Republican presidential candidates.

But other prominent conservatives have said they're skipping the conference. The conservative Heritage Foundation and other socially conservative groups withdrew due to the inclusion of GOProud. And with those groups out, Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) followed suit. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) also declined participation, though it's unclear if that decision is linked to GOProud.

Aside from DeMint, though, the other Republicans mulling a run for president are slated to speak or participate at the conference, hoping in part to boost their standing in the closely watched straw poll of attendees.

Palin suggested that conservatives had more important issues to worry about than which groups were attending the conference.

"People are losing their jobs; they're losing homes. We're still engaged in a war," she said. "There are so many life-changing, life-and-death issues out there in front of us. You know, we'd better be concentrating on what is really important here and not going kind of tit-for-tat as people are positioning themselves for 2012."

It doesn’t bother you that the idea of the family is being ripped apart?

Divorce has done more to rip apart families than gay could ever dream of. That is why I am 100 percent against divorce.....thankfully my wife feels the same way. Do you know that in four generations, we have not had a single divorce. My marriage is going on 15 years, my sister is going on 14, my brother is going on 11 years. My parents are at 43 in October. My grandparents (both sets) made it to over 50 years until the death of a spouse. If America really wanted to fix the mess of marriage, they would make it virtually impossible to get divorce. People think that marriage is supposed to be easy. It is challenging but very fulfilling.

Change “gay” with “Sodomites” and see if people think the same thing.

Names matter. The left puts a pretty face on the vilest of passions.
Abortion, the brutal dismemberment of a human infant while it's still alive is "A woman's choice." Isn't that a beautiful thing?
Men lusting after other mens anuses is "Gay." How marvelous!
"Welfare for the poor" is nothing but tax payer slavery for democrat sloth.

Ask yourself how many states would ban gay marriage and abortion if they could? Then ask yourself what is stopping them. Then you will understand my point.

and yet she isn’t going. I know you are having trouble squaring that circle....

It appears that Sarah Palin is the one who is having problems with "what goes where".

The truth needs to be spread. Again, buh bye Sarah Palin; she sold out God and the Christian conservative movement for political correctness.

You have fallen into the disease of Moral Relativity.

Hardly. Their sin is no greater than anyone elses and I certainly can't stop all of it. I talk to those I meet about God's healing and that's all I can do.

Drinking to excess is also a sin. Are you going to do something about it too? No. There will always be sin.

Plenty. My state (Texas) is trying to implement ultra-sounds before an abortion can be performed. Many others refuse to acknowleged gay marriages that are “legal” in other states.

“What is stopping them”?

Liberals like you.

Yes, exactly. And do not forget to allow Pedophiles into the “BIG TENT”. (NAMBLA) AS long as they all share the same goal you know; “The problems that face America.”

“Different Diverse groups like this that are involved in political discourse” are certainly welcome and encouraged!

The more Palin opens her mouth, the clearer her true image emerges.

No what is stopping them is DC. the moralists will never get enough votes to stop a small minority from having a hand in policy. the Constitution is set up that way. the only way we get enough of a majority is to go local.

“liberals like you”

A. I am a conservative

b. The answer is the FEDERAL government is stopping it!!!!! Abortion and gay marriage would be illegal across the country were it not for the Federal courts. You and I want the same goal, an abortion free Christian nation. But we will never get it with a command and control central govt.

There you go again, trying to explain it from a “Moral Relativity” point of view. I rest my case........

"She is wise enough to prioritize our Nation’s problems and gay marriage isn’t at the top."

Gay Marriage isn't even at the top of the "homosexual agenda", if there is such a thing.

That is something you and your family can be very proud of. My parents have been married 63 years.

You know social decline is like dominoes. One falls ...and they all start falling. You can bet that leftist involvement is behind the original domino.

I don’t know that we can turn this back anymore. The corruption is so near to complete. We accept one thing that is repugnant to us and we then find it easier and easier to swallow the next.

Since we are now supposed to accept gays getting married, you can count on the fact that easy divorce is here to stay.

In otherwards, we ain’t movin’ in the right direction for anything like outlawing divorce.

Are you forgeting that the force behind the cause of the “Social decline Domino falling” is Moral decline.

Social decline does not happen until Moral decline happens first.
