Palin: No 'problem' with gay group at CPAC
The Hill ^ | 10 Feb 2011 | Michael O'Brien

Posted on 02/10/2011 6:25:57 AM PST by Notary Sojac

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) said Wednesday evening she has no objection to the participation of gay Republicans at this weekend's gathering of conservatives in Washington.

Palin said she didn't see anything wrong with the participation of GOProud, a group of gay Republicans, at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), which runs Thursday through Saturday.

"I don't have a problem with different, diverse groups that are involved in political discourse, and having a convention to talk about what the answers are to their problems that face America," Palin said Wednesday on Fox News when asked about GOProud.

Palin isn't participating in the conference, and she's declined previous invitations, despite CPAC's role as a cattle call for possible Republican presidential candidates.

But other prominent conservatives have said they're skipping the conference. The conservative Heritage Foundation and other socially conservative groups withdrew due to the inclusion of GOProud. And with those groups out, Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) followed suit. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) also declined participation, though it's unclear if that decision is linked to GOProud.

Aside from DeMint, though, the other Republicans mulling a run for president are slated to speak or participate at the conference, hoping in part to boost their standing in the closely watched straw poll of attendees.

Palin suggested that conservatives had more important issues to worry about than which groups were attending the conference.

"People are losing their jobs; they're losing homes. We're still engaged in a war," she said. "There are so many life-changing, life-and-death issues out there in front of us. You know, we'd better be concentrating on what is really important here and not going kind of tit-for-tat as people are positioning themselves for 2012."

But Palin is not any other candidate.
She’s The One.
(not being sarcastic, really think so)

Absolutely. Palin/West 2012.

They shouldn't be allowed to be a SPONSOR of it because ITS SOLE PURPOSE is to promote a homosexual political agenda.

I think the word sponsor or co-sponsor is a bit of a misnomer. The phrase "a couple of people with a booth" would be more accurate.

What’s scary to me is the gay militants obsession with and hatred of Sarah Palin.

It will kill them, kill her or both.

Yes they have freedom of speech let them create their own platform (like they don’t have enough of them already)
Call it the Social-Liberal-And-Proud-Sodomite-Conservatives Party
SLAPS-Conservatives Party

THAT would be an appropriate name.

If Jesus was here today, would he most likely be at a pot luck at your church or hanging out with friends at a HIV clinic in Seattle?

HIV clinics would not be needed if Jesus were here today. Go and sin no more.

I’m not convinced. We all thought we knew where the Bushes stood on moral issues like homosexuality and abortion. But after all these years; we see they did diddly in regards to these vital issues.

And it showed in their weakness in other economic and politicals concerns.

Their whole purpose is to splinter Conservatives. It’s working.

social conservatism’s governmental goal is to ostracize, exclude, and inter people who have had abortion or are gay.

Or maybe she just opposes groups that support gay marriage, gays in the military and homosexuality, hate crime laws that eliminate religious freedom and homosexuality being promoted to little kids in public schools.

Why should any group that supports the homosexual political agenda be welcomed to promote that agenda in the conservative movement?

Allowing GOProud to participate is as ridiculous as allowing "conservative" Muslims that blame the US for 9/11, blame Israel for the problems in the middle east and want sharia law instituted in the nation, to sponsor CPAC.

Look. There are NO MORAL LIBERTARIANS. You cannot hold libertarian values and be morally or socially conservative.

Geesh!

______________________________________________________________________________

Why because you say so? Well, that holds no water with me and by reading all of your statements nothing you say holds water with me.

Republican means many different things to different people
Christian means different things to different people
Libertarian means different things to different people.

Life isn’t black and white or a Webster dictionary, get real!

Of all I said, that is what you pick out? You should preface all your Palin criticism with the fact that you have severe PDS and therefore can’t think logically.

OK, they rented a booth, and threw a big party near by.

As if anyone could stop a party in or near the hotel.

I don’t think they are particularly splitting conservatives.

I think they are accentuating the difference between conservatives and the Republican Party.

The GOP is socially liberal and not really all that fiscally conservative anymore.

Whatever platform that was once there has collapsed into confusion.

It’s been working for years...
When self acclaimed Christians can support the homosexual agenda on the miss-guided idea that’s ‘loving’ them Biblically, we are in trouble and confused.

f so, then no wonder Jews overwhelmingly vote with the RATs.

Jews are overwhelmingly atheistic, or at least agnostic.

DJ MacWoW, that’s awesome! I’ve been trying for years to work out in my mind between my libertarian and conservative sides on the gay issue. You framed it for me in a way that makes sense.

You are right, I don’t care what individuals do in their home. I do care when a group decides to push that on me and little children, then acts as if I’m supposed to accept that. A small minority of people who want to form a group to alter society to their liking better expect that I’m not going to sit and put up with their moral imperialism. They will have a fight on their hands.

I don’t think they are particularly splitting conservatives.

Guess Who's Coming to CPAC? (Breitbart & Norquist Gush Over GOProud in Homosexual Publication)

Breitbart minces no words: "If being conservative means rejecting gay conservatives because they are gay, then fine, I'm not a conservative."

.Going to the substance of what he says is the primary reason for his support of GOProud, Breitbart says, "I believe, to the core of my being, that what I'm doing is supported by the vast majority of the people who consider themselves conservatives in this country."

Barron looks at the landscape: "We've said all along that we don't think that the conservative movement is unwelcoming to gay people. There is a fringe element. A really nasty, anti-gay, bigoted element. And we have smoked them out, and we have marginalized them."

Why the moralists that said the government had the power to regulate deviant behavior.

You mean like our Founders that banned sodomy/homosexuality, adultery and, in some states, shacking up?

This nation was great because it was founded upon Judeo-Christianity and principle that rights come from God and can't be taken away by the Creator.

No nation would survive, let alone thrive, if rooted in libertarianism. Legalizing deviant behavior puts nations on the same road Sodom and Gomorrah and Roman Empire ended up going down.

What a hypocrite, you will take Bachmann or Cain over Sarah? Bachmann and Cain are SPEAKING at CPAC.

By your definition, showing up is endorsing GoProud. So Bachmann and Cain are completely fine with letting GoProud have a seat at the table and chance to speak.

Sarah isn’t attending and never has. That alone should tell you she doesn’t value the direction CPAC has taken. If she isn’t there then she probably could care less about who is or isn’t. Her attitude is probably, Sure GoProud should be able to talk, I’m not there, what do I care?

To stay intellectually honest, DeMint is your only choice. No other candidate will do without making you a hypocrite.
