Palin: No 'problem' with gay group at CPAC
The Hill ^ | 10 Feb 2011 | Michael O'Brien

Posted on 02/10/2011 6:25:57 AM PST by Notary Sojac

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) said Wednesday evening she has no objection to the participation of gay Republicans at this weekend's gathering of conservatives in Washington.

Palin said she didn't see anything wrong with the participation of GOProud, a group of gay Republicans, at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), which runs Thursday through Saturday.

"I don't have a problem with different, diverse groups that are involved in political discourse, and having a convention to talk about what the answers are to their problems that face America," Palin said Wednesday on Fox News when asked about GOProud.

Palin isn't participating in the conference, and she's declined previous invitations, despite CPAC's role as a cattle call for possible Republican presidential candidates.

But other prominent conservatives have said they're skipping the conference. The conservative Heritage Foundation and other socially conservative groups withdrew due to the inclusion of GOProud. And with those groups out, Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) followed suit. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) also declined participation, though it's unclear if that decision is linked to GOProud.

Aside from DeMint, though, the other Republicans mulling a run for president are slated to speak or participate at the conference, hoping in part to boost their standing in the closely watched straw poll of attendees.

Palin suggested that conservatives had more important issues to worry about than which groups were attending the conference.

"People are losing their jobs; they're losing homes. We're still engaged in a war," she said. "There are so many life-changing, life-and-death issues out there in front of us. You know, we'd better be concentrating on what is really important here and not going kind of tit-for-tat as people are positioning themselves for 2012."

maybe you missed it but I don’t think so.

the homosexual agenda is not to be pushed on here and iof done so then they will be banned.

BTW that is by the owner of this site and many have been banned.

Question is do you think marriage is for two men?
Should homosexuality be taught in the school.
should we have openly serving homo’s ?

I’m asking you because ion the past you have made similar comments also conservatism is social as well as fiscal, you are not a conservative if you’re liberal and pro communist

http://www.uhuh.com/nwo/communism/comgoals.htm

read their rules when you get a chance, they are communist

Some coming from that camp (like Jim Baker’s son) have reacted against (perceived) gay bashing, to “reach out” to the poor rejected homosexual

Evangelicals are not pro-homo like Bakker's son. In fact, evangelicals are the least likely to be pro-homo among any protestant faction.

If evangelicalism has been infiltrated by the left it is through environmental issues, illegal immigration and a desire to have mercy on criminals sort of like Mike Huckabee has been.

libertarians are liberally social and not conservative and I agree wit you I would do the same voting time.

It amazes me how many times does JR have to ban people or have people on ere who seem to not understand what this site stands for or what conservatism stands for.

This crap of well I know one and they’;re nice they never discuss their sex is pure crap and a cop out.

Ask them about marriage serving, teaching their kind of sex in schools etc and they are liberals.

GOproud is the log cabins who got found out to be Dems looking to infiltrate the conservative cause and it seems some on here are just too naive or stupid to understand that.

Also most of this country does not want the homosexual agenda so what does that stay about those who say they’re conservative but have no problem with the queer communist agenda

You know, they don’t get the concept do they? They don’t understand that conservatism doesn’t support the notion of identity politics.

Why should there be a group called gay conservatives? Is there a booth there for heterosexual conservatives? People don’t separate up unless they are looking to push something onto others by acting as though sharing the same rights based on the Constitution is somehow unfair.

We have lost the concept of what is normal and what is not.

They need to change the name and remove Conservative from the name.

Geesh

you do not have to be religious to be a conservative and especially most I know are not religious but do oppose the queer agenda.

Don’t try to make YOUR religion law of the land.

So, you just eliminated the Founders for consideration if they were alive and running today.

So you don’t agree with freedom of speech if the person speaking disagrees with you

Again, you can't grasp the difference between First Amendment rights and a conservative group giving homosexual activists a platform for their speech? God help you.

she would have no problem going if it weren't for schedule conflicts.

Actually she said she had never been to one, and didn’t know why it was so important.

One is not allowed here to call ethnic groups by crude obscene names, but it’s very upsetting to me that gays are allowed to be called such things.

There is nothing perverted about being part of ethnic group. Homosexuality is perverted, is spreading disease, depression and early death among its participants AND SHOULD BE STIGMATIZED as it was throughout most of the history of the nation.

I’d just like to see Palin treated like any other potential candidate. Pluses, and minuses.

That would be nice but it doesn't appear like that will happen soon. Fortunate for others that they aren't treated as harshly as Sarah Palin because very few of the other candidates would survive the "Palin treatment".

The brownshirting gay militants along with the GOP Establishment would like to take Sarah Palin down.

The GOP boys are more careful and calculating while the gayshirts are blunt and bullying.

Palin drives the gay faction in particular towards total insanity.

states rights, how do states stop the military having openly serving homo’s?
Because you can bet now that they will focus on overturning DOMA because they will say they can die and fight but cannot marry, then they shoudl teach it because it is law.

so are you OK wiht teachers telling kids that fisting is OK and how to do it , because that has already happened

Gays are an extremely small percentage of the population. Of that small percentage a small percentage are activists who promote the gay agenda.

Yet, homosexual activists have, perhaps, more political power than any group in the nation. That's because they are backed by the Marxist left that want to use the homosexual agenda to erode free speech, freedom of religion, freedom of association and parental rights.

Wake up to that reality.

GOProud is the same as any Dem group. They simply aren’t conservative and just cause they claim it doesn’t make it so. If you don’t buy their leftwing agenda you’re a bigot?! I can’t believe the people buying into it. They are responding in sympathy not thoughtfulness.

What a hypocrite, you will take Bachmann or Cain over Sarah? Bachmann and Cain are SPEAKING at CPAC.

\ Neither has endorsed GOProud being there. If they do, I will rank them lower on my list of candidates as well.

And, Palin obviously isn't boycotting CPAC because of GOProud given her comments supporting it being there.
