Yaelle my dear you have a lovely soft heart. But this isn’t about individual homosexuals. It’s about a group trying to force their view on others. And that is what GROUPS do. The idea is that a group has more power than an individual voice and the group drowns out dissent and opposition. No one cares what homosexuals do in private. I care what they are doing in public, in the courts and in the schools, as a GROUP.
You have fallen into the disease of Moral Relativity. Liberalterians are the epitome of this twisted ideology. “If it does not directly effect me, then I could care less WHAT you do. As long as I get smaller Government, lower Taxes and can do what ever I please so long as it does not hurt or effect others and they stay out of my business"!
It's flawed thinking like this that is responsible for the mess this country has fallen into.
Holding a tight line on Morality and behavior, as well as not allowing deviant thinking to degrade that Morality, is what this country was founded on. Once we started tolerating the seeds of moral decline to enter into our society, the more rapidly we lost our direction.
The same principle applies to why the GOP is about to become a thing of the past. Libertarians like Palin will go with it.

But I really get sick of reading threads where FReepers continually insult individual gay people with insults. One is not allowed here to call ethnic groups by crude obscene names, but it’s very upsetting to me that gays are allowed to be called such things. Sorry, but it is wrong and offensive. And beneath a G-dfearing site.
If a conservative group of adults with Down Syndrome were trying to make themselves heard, would FReepers really call them Idiots, Retards, and Morons?? That is EXACTLY what they are doing to gays.

DJ MacWoW, that’s awesome! I’ve been trying for years to work out in my mind between my libertarian and conservative sides on the gay issue. You framed it for me in a way that makes sense.
You are right, I don’t care what individuals do in their home. I do care when a group decides to push that on me and little children, then acts as if I’m supposed to accept that. A small minority of people who want to form a group to alter society to their liking better expect that I’m not going to sit and put up with their moral imperialism. They will have a fight on their hands.
