Rep. Gary Ackerman, D-N.Y., chairman of the Foreign Affairs subcommittee on the Middle East and South Asia, called Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak's address "a sadistic tease" and predicted that demonstrations could turn violent.
"He just lit the final fuse," Ackerman said in an interview on MSNBC TV. "And now I think the situation is going to verge on the explosive over the next 24 hours."

Considering how accurate the administration and Intelligence agencies have been regarding Egypt I would suggest that the Congressman has as much credibility on the subject as my 90 year old Aunt.
Obama will make Mubarak the USA’s enemy. It will give Obama a “community organizer’s moment” which he will enjoy. He can grandstand about promoting democracy. The MSM will be able to promote this simple narrative. Obama believes it will further burnish his 3rd world Muslim credentials. He won’t really care who takes over in Egypt.

I never thought I would say this but Hilary seems to be the only one Dem with any brains, unless I’ve missed something she said. This is a no win situation and idiots like Ackerman are not going to warm up whoever comes out on top in Egypt. A BLANK teleprompter is what is needed at this moment.
If Barak had ANY political acumen at all, or if he had not insisted on surrounding himself with sycophantic worshipers, he would have seen this coming and tried to get Mubarak to defuse the situation by announcing a more democratic form of government.
What irony...as he's already made Israel the USA's enemy. He's uniting the world in hatred of us (or at least in hatred of him).
