Concealed Carry In Kentucky Without A License

LEGISLATIVE ACTION ALERT

SUPPORT HB 113 - http://www.lrc.ky.gov/record/11RS/HB113.htm

Rep. Mike Harmon from Danville, the sponsor of this new concealed carry bill, recently met with members of Take Back Kentucky, Campaign for Liberty and OpenCarry.org, and they fixed the language in the bill. The concerns we had with the bill were not intentional. They were mostly legalese. This is a good bill, and would add Kentucky to Vermont, Alaska, and Arizona as states that do not require a state issued license to practice the fundamental and unalienable right to keep and bear arms, regardless of whether a weapon is openly carried or concealed. We'd keep our existing concealed carry license for those who wanted reciprocity to carry concealed in other states.

It's time for the calls to flood into the Capitol to support HB 113.

Call the Legislative Message line in Frankfort: 1-800-372-7181 (Until 11 PM! No excuses!)

The first Message is for YOUR representative, the House leadership, and the House Judiciary Committee: "Please support our Second Amendment Rights and pass HB 113; the Concealed Carry Bill"

Second Message: Thank representative Mike Harmon for sponsoring HB 113

BTW - Mike Harmon is the running mate of Phil Moffett, a pro-liberty (pro-2A!) candidate for governor in 2011. http://www.PhilMoffett.com

BTW#2 - I'll have a table at the Lexington Gun Show on February 19th and 20th, promoting HB 113, the Kentucky Firearms Freedom Act, and Phil Moffett for governor. Come on by and say hi!

good illustration, i believe is the current situation between ky and In...

In is shall issue, with the only requirement to pass the background check and give prints...NO written or range qualifications...Ky honors the In paper even though they require written and range test...

i wouldnt bet yer FReedom that goin to In and declaring not to 'need' the paper, because you are a ky resident, in the future, as a defense tho...

Had a customer open carrying in my store the other day. I struck up a conversation with him about the right to bear arms (we had eight inches of snow on the ground and weren't very busy). He had just moved here a few weeks earlier with the Human Resources Command (Fort Knox) and was looking for a range off post to take his kids for some handgun safety courses and some plinking.

I told him about Knob Creek and proceeded to tell him the history of the range, how the Louisville Naval Ordinance Plant used to test fire its battleship and cruiser guns into the limestone hills back in the 1940's and 50's. He thanked me for the info and invited me to come out and shoot with him sometime.

I find it ironic that, a hundred years ago, carrying concealed was considered “criminal intent”, but carrying open was accepted just about everywhere in this country.

There were pockets of “no carry” here and there (like in large cities), but by and large carrying firearms was much more accepted.

Just goes to show you the depth of the brainwashing the dems/socialists/communists/libs (redundancy alert) have accomplished on our people over the decades. They’ve successfully created an atmosphere of fear, hostility, and outright contempt for a Constitutional right that is actualyl WRITTEN in the Constitution, and an atmosphere of acceptance and tolerance for one that is made up (abortion) and NEVER existed.

Who is to blame for this? Them, for accomplishing it; or us, for letting it happen?

You’re right, I’ve considered this...we’ll still need the permit to carry across state lines. I’ll keep the permit intact for this purpose only.

Well, half of the country, anyway...
