WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange claims to be a champion of press freedom and the public's right to know. So why is his tell-all Web site taking "legal action" against a tell-all book by a former WikiLeaks staffer?
Uh, maybe because the book is critical of . . . Assange?
Some press champion!
The book, "Inside WikiLeaks: My Time With Julian Assange at the World's Most Dangerous Website," by Daniel Domscheit-Berg, was released in Europe yesterday and is to appear here Tuesday. It portrays Assange as a would-be "emperor" and just the kind of public figure he claims he likes to expose.
Not particularly flattering stuff.
But then, damning content has never bothered Assange & Co. before . . .
WikiLeaks confirmed that it's "taking legal action" against Domscheit-Berg, saying the book is "based on limited information or malicious falsifications."
Aw. If Assange cares about the public's right to know, why not just let folks read the book and decide for themselves?
Nor is this the first time he's attacked leaks -- involving him: Last year, his lawyer called for a criminal probe when parts of a police report containing sexual allegations against him became public.

Most people with common sense should recognize that institutional privacy and individual privacy are two VERY different things.
I would like to see less of the former and more of the latter.
Assange complains about the sexual harassment charges and says he just likes girls. I think he is gay and the other is a front.
