Rumsfeld: "Time Has Come" To Allow Gays To Serve Openly

Former defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld, who served at the Pentagon under two Republican presidents, says the “time has come” time for gays and lesbians to serve openly in the US military.

Two months after President Obama signed a law that will lead to the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, Rumsfeld told ABC News Radio that the nation is ready for open service.

“First of all, we know that gays and lesbians have been serving in the military for decades with honorable service,” Rumsfeld said. “We know that [repeal of a ban on gays serving openly] is an idea whose time has come.”

Rumsfeld says he has “enormous respect” for the ground commanders and service chiefs who have expressed concerns about the impact of gays serving openly on unit cohesion, and he urged the top brass to implement the new law “with care.”

But Rumsfeld says that congress, which passed the repeal bill in the waning days of the last session, has expressed the will of the American people.

“We’ve seen it evolve in our country,” Rumsfeld said of the nation’s perception of gays and lesbians, reiterating that many have served in uniform with distinction.

Spoiled families are more likely to include homosexual members. Hundreds of them have been rounded up in raids on city parks in at least one small City in the Midwest, and most of the arrestees were professionals with higher incomes. As for business and politics, as with other drug addicts, they do network more than most heterosexuals.

Rumsfeld is and always has been a complete idiot. His view on this subject is simply another piece of evidence proving the point. He idiocy was on full display during the early days of the War on Terror, but many on this forum were in full denial shouting, RUMMY, RUMMY, RUMMY without any critical analysis of who the guy really was.

Rumsfeld, Bremer, and Sanchez were the architects of failure in the early days of Iraq and its time for Freepers to wake up and realize what a loser this guy really is.

This is an enormous logical fallacy which I see repeated more and more often. First, this "acceptance" of homosexuality as normal has not "evolved"; it was forced on us. A majority of the country NOW doesn't approve of homosexual marriage, for instance, yet the courts are forcing it on us and Hollywood and most other media are promoting it heavily, all while leftwing teachers are brainwashing our kids with it. This has not been an evolution of culture - it has been a force feeding, and now the force feeders are saying, "well, now that you've eaten it, I guess you must like it."
