Donald Trump Vs Sarah Palin -- Republican Presidential Candidates 2012
IB TImes ^ | 2/12/11 | staff

Posted on 02/14/2011 1:24:34 AM PST by pissant

As the 2012 presidential race approaches, the Republicans are exploring all possibilities to deny Barack Obama a second term. As the potential Republican candidates met in Washington for the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), the real estate mogul Donald Trump made a surprise appearance to reiterate the possibility of him running for president in 2012. Among the likes of Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney and Ron Paul, the real estate mogul will have to first beat out the ever popular Sarah Palin to even be considered.

Although Trump flirted with the idea way back in 1999 when Bill Clinton was the President on a Reform Party ticket, he recently stated his plans of running for president in November 2010. He had told ABC it "could be fun" to run because he wanted "to see some positive things happen for the country." Before that in October, he had told Fox News that if he were to run for president he would as a Republican.

Now, his February appearance on the CPAC has set off a strong buzz that Trump would run for the White House in 2012. According to media reports, it was the Trump camp that reached out to organizers of the event on the possibility of the potential presidential contender delivering a speech. Trump also made some strong statements on Thursday as he felt that the country was becoming "the laughingstock of the world."

LOL.

I think on one level we agree.

But we’re saying exactly the opposite things.

I’m not saying Trump isn’t a democrat. I’m not saying he is a democrat. I’m saying he is right.

And I’m saying the Republican Party should be saying exactly what Mr. Trump is saying.

The fact he’s out-flanked every GOP candidate so effectively, and garnered such overwhelming support by such a simple stand, isn’t about Trump at all.

It’s about the stand itself.

TRUMP IS CORRECT. That is the point. So where the heck, is the GOP on this issue???

A reminder to those who so quickly threaten to stay home:

That’s exactly how we ended up with Obama.

We’re not going to take back America by quitting every time someone disagrees with us.

Take a stand. State it. Back it up. And don’t ever, every quit. Ever.

[Trump would run for the White House in 2012]

I fear that the Republican line up is going to look the contestants on the Gong Show.

Trump talks a good game about protecting the American economy, but I bought a Donald Trump shirt yesterday, and I saw that it was made in Bangladesh. I suppose that it’s only China that he has a beef with.

The DONALD can be trusted about as far as we can toss one of his buildings! He’s just muddying up the water, probably for some unseen personal economic benefit.

Trump:

1. For universal health care
2. Against missile defense
3. Pro-abortion
4. For assault weapon ban, waiting period, & background check
5. Attempted to — through eminent domain abuse — acquire the home of Vera Coking located near Trump Casino. Trump wanted the property space for limosine parking.

These are not the hallmarks of a “conservative.”

That’s all I need to know. Do you have any citations for the above?

So what about Trump’s ideas?

Trump's a non-starter... And a putz.

Why do you suppose we’re even talking about him?

BTFOOM.

No Christians, no win. There is no way the Christian Right will touch him. He cannot win.

What about him, exactly, will the MIL folks latch onto? War hero?... no. Military career?... No... A military or foreign policy strategist of note? ... NOPE. Nuthin' there.

What about the civ-libs? Has he ever stood on a Constitutional issue in his life? Not to my knowledge. A big fat "0" from the Constitutional Conservatives.

OK... FICONS... a 'leet high roller, who made his money in high finance, A landlord who owns gambling dens, not a market player, not a manufacturer. Wouldn't know Main Street from his left testicle. Nodoubt he can balance a check book, but he usually does that with other peoples money.

IOW, he's Romney v.II with the toupe' instead of the brylcreme.

~Bleah~.

If you want me to EVEN get off my ass and go vote, you'll have to do WAY more than this guy. In fact, I can pretty well be I will be here talkin' smack.

If this is what passes for Conservative these days, you don't deserve to win.

A reminder to those who so quickly threaten to stay home:

To add for the stay at home types:
Your pride in being a true conservative is overweening and nothing shall take that from you, not even an other term by the Usurper! Never vote for any one who is not in complete agreement with your values!

It is far better to have someone as President determined to destroy America absolutely, then ever vote in anyone who would in any way impugn your vaunted values!

And for G-d’s sake, quit smelling your old socks!

If there’s anyone in America who has the ability to help me appreciate the born-in gravitas, the deep philosophical grounding, the depth and breadth of intellect, in Sarah Palin, that “anyone” would certainly have to be Donald Trump.
