she'll be on a crusade for gun control...

She was on the record as pro-gun before she ran for the job and since the shooting she has indicated that more gun control is NOT the right answer, but rather more effective reporting and handling of the mentally disturbed. Now to ME "mentally disturbed" is a sobriquet that applies evenly to the entire Democratic Party. They in turn take the term and apply it across the board to all gun owners and especially to the membership of the NRA.

I was wondering why MSM is reporting on her constantly. Could it be its part of their buildup to push her for Senator?

"Reagan was nearly 70 when he won the presidency."

Yes, he was 69. Someone on this thread mentioned that Sherrif Joe is 78. Sounds like a one termer to me. I would rather see a younger conservative guy/gal who can serve two to three terms in there IMO. I always loved that line Reagan used on Mondale in that debate. Even Mondale laughed at it and I truly think he won the debate right there!! Right at the beginning.

Is she saying that the whole Democrat party should not be allowed to keep and bear arms? That might be a little extreme even for me... : )

Gabby is NOT for protecting the border. Says she is, but votes against anything that will.

Gabby is NOT a blue dog democrat. Says she is but voted for TARP and BOcare.

Gabby is Pelosi’s lapdog and totally ignores her Cochise County constituents.

Gabby is rude to any constituent who hints that what she’s saying isn’t supported by history or facts.

Gabby would look like Harry Reid in the Senate.

Yes, she is my so-called representative.

The Senate seat will (by sentimental default) go to Gabby Giffords if she recovers even mentions the idea of running.

More so if she doesn't recover. (See the "Carnahan Effect")

“The DUmmies are beside themselves at the thought of Gabby running”

Funny considering just a couple months ago they hated her.

GO SHERIFF JOE!!

Flake may be the ‘real contender’ but he’s PRO ‘IMMIGRATION REFORM’ and is rated C- by NumbersUSA.

**The poor woman has had a hole blown through here skull and through her brain.....and they now use her for political gain?**

And, here I am, beating myself up over having the thoughts that,Giffords showing so much less Brain Damage than one would expect, after such a trauma.

Nonsense!
Democrat Walter Mondale's (overwhelming sentimental favorite) disastrous run for the dead Paul Wellstone’s seat back in 2002 says, “Hello!”.
Sheriff Joe will CRUSH her if he runs against her. Bring it on!

And Arpaio is in his 70’s, correct? I’m no ageist but I think that’s a little too old to be starting off in the Senate”

John McCain (elected to the US Senate just last year when he was 74), says, “Hello!”

"John McCain (elected to the US Senate just last year when he was 74), says, “Hello!"

Well as someone else mentioned, Arpaio is actually 78.

I'm not sure why I have to defend John McCain when I didn't want him to run again.

IMO I would just like to see someone a little younger run. Someone who could be there for 2 or 3 terms. I think Arpaio will be a one term senator (he'll be 80 when he's elected and 86 after his first term).

agreed, we as a nation have become too soft, too PC, to hurt in their feelings over nothing.

People now will vote because of what happened to her not because she is best for the job.

Never let a crisis go to waste

Get real. The woman is just relearning how to speak more than simple sentences.

She has had a bullet through her brain. It will be awhile before she can function well enough, if ever, on her own, much less run in a political race for the Senate.

I wish her well, but just cannot see Arizona voters putting her in the Senate.

True, but the ‘Rats are not above using her in her injured condition if they think they can gain that Senate seat. Just like El Cid propped up on his horse, the ‘Rats will trot out Gifford in a wheelchair or hospital bed. Remember how they used Max Cleland in Georgia? The guy had enough trouble even getting around and they used that to gain the sympathy vote.
