Bachmann: Obama won't be the only one-term prez
Poltico ^ | 2/15/11 | Andy Barr

Michele Bachmann says whoever emerges as the GOP nominee will have to be prepared to be a one-term president.

Bachmann, who hasn’t ruled out a run herself in 2012, said in an interview with conservative commentator S.E. Cupp that whoever emerges from the Republican field will have to be prepared to address unpopular issues. Continue Reading

“They have to have the requisite political courage to stare down the media and all the special interest groups and make it happen,” Bachmann said in the interview shown on Glenn Beck's website Monday.

“They have to be willing to be a one-term president because there’s going to be serious work that needs to be done here. Cutting spending — and that’s going to cause a lot of people to squeal — and getting rid of ObamaCare,” she said.

Bachmann said the job will take one “tough hombre” — or “hombre-ette.”

Good insight. For sure, it will take someone who is committed to doing the job more than they are to having the job.

>The media will feel like it’s fixin’ to die.

Actually, the print papers should be FORCED to recycle, for the sake of THE ENVIRONMENT.

They do care about the environment, don’t they?

Nah! There are still more producers than consumers.

What I do scoff at was Paul Ryan’s 32 Billion pittance in cuts.

Doesn't that refer to remainder of this year's budget? The Repubs haven't present their 2012 budget, have they? This is finishing what the Dems didn't do?

I might be mistaken but I think this is what's going on with the Ryan cuts.

Feel free to correct me...with facts, please.

To 32 - Absolutely correct.

Too many individuals and businesses need to be removed from the government's (taxpayers') teet. If implemented we'd have to see whether a majority of voters approve or not. Bachmann understands that we have to start somewhere, and soon. Though I believe Palin too shares this opinion.
Either way, a President attempting this will face resistance from Democrats and Republicans.

You know Ben, I had not even thought of that!! It might well be that we have to DE-TACH our states from DC at RE-ATTACH them to an independent Republic of Texas...

“The one term prez will be replace by a ‘stop the cuts - increase spending’ democRat. My guess there will be a democRat majority in the house and senate because of the ‘damage’ the one term Republican prez did.”

That’s my fear also. A great prez who’ll force cuts NEEDS more than one term (or another one like him to follow) in order to do enough good for people to be able to see results. But our respect in the world would, however, rise almost immediately with friend and foe alike.

‘Course, I think everyone who thinks responsibly, patriotically, with common sense would appreciate a like-minded prez, but what worries me SO much are the millions of illegals voting fraudulently and the lazy, the mindless and the immature voters.

Are we doomed to be hijacked from now on by these, simply because of sheer numbers?

“I foresee a lot of attempted assassinations. The entitlement mentality IS that entrenched.”

That’s entirely possible. Look at Greece and, to a lesser degree, some of the other EU countries as they try to reverse the huge mistakes of the past (that they’ve tried warning us not to keep making). Look at the latest news stories of the Wisc. governor prepared to call out the National Guard if necessary, due to the escalating ire of the unions/govt. employees over his (courageous) deep budget cuts.

“The good news is that America 2.0 will be a much better place...”

No, that’s the theme of BHO, his progressive minions and the NWO villains. Or we’re already IN their America 2.0 and they’re now aiming for 3.0 - OR 0.0.

I want us to take back America 1.0.

Perhaps not far enough ahead. The one term prez will be replace by a ‘stop the cuts - increase spending’ democRat. My guess there will be a democRat majority in the house and senate because of the ‘damage’ the one term Republican prez did.

That could well be. At that point I think Soviet style dissolution of the United States would become inevitable. Hopefully the entropy would be like the Soviet Union or Czechoslovakia, and not like Yugoslavia.

Let me explain my perspective on this issue. If you are a strict Constitutionalist like myself we can safely talk about 3-4 "dispensations of US History

1776-1787 Articles of Confederation

1788-1861 Pre-Civil War America

1865-1912 Post-Civil War America

1913-2008 Progressive Era America

2009-?    Imperial America (Obamanation)

If you want to get less technical there was US before the abominations of 1913: IRS (progressive income taxation), Federal Reserve, direct election of Senators, President Wilson and his racist repressive government and what we have right now.

The genius of our founders was a political system that could adapt and change with the times while being able to provide stability and prosperity. These libtards have fatally poisoned that system so that we will have to literally reboot it! (hence America 2.0) I fear that if even we had a traditional constitutional convention a la 1787 that all the elitists, special interests, big government and nanny statists would stink it up just like they stank up government, education, health care and every other American institution.  A revival of a “classical” pre-1913 Constitution will be such a threat to these folks that we will have a second Civil War.

While America is not immune to the immutable laws of history and economic, I recognize that American Exceptionalism will in the end thwart these petty tyrants and schemers and just as the nation had to pay for the sins slavery with bloody war so we will have to pay for sins of the progressives. There is nothing “new” about the NOW; it’s the same old commies, fascists, slaveholding, and big government statist thugs with Ivy League credentials. They are not smart (despite what their tools in the media keep telling the sheeple) and will not prevail!
