Curious if this was a “no knock” warrant. Those things will get people killed.

You make a VERY good point.

I fully understand the reasoning for a "no knock" warrant, but I also understand why a homeowner would react violently to unknown people breaking his door down.

Solution: The police should be required to turn on their police car sirens and lights just before the door is breached.

That way, the homeowner at least has some clue that this is a police operation and not a criminal home invasion.

The thugs have learned to yell “POLICE” when busting into someones house in the middle of the night. I will not be taking any chances...anyone forcing themselves into my house without proper reason and proof of such will be treated as a threat to my life.

Also, you have to remember that a lot of druggies sleep all day and are up all night.

So when the U.S. marshals arrived at 8:30am, that to him may have felt like what 2am feels to us.

And if he was woken up abruptly he may have thought the marshals were actually drug dealers coming to take revenge on him.

Just sayin'
