Perhaps everyone isn’t drinking your kool aid because they don’t want the place to once again be a bastion of losers.

There is more than one way of looking at this.

I’ve tried to be positive with Sarah but continue to have an uneasiness in the pit of my stomach. ...

That uneasiness would be reality.

“It’s the economy, stupid” is the political byword of Bill Clinton, James Carville, and Paul Begala.

Not exactly where real conservatives want to hang their hat.

"There are so many life-changing, life-and-death issues out there in front of us. You know, we'd better be concentrating on what is really important here."

Couldn't agree with her more.

Once more.....Conservatives attacking Conservatives.

No, sounds more like conservatives attacking non-conservatism, i.e. liberalism.

If we fail to do that, wherever it rears its ugly head, conservatism is dead. DEAD!

Conservatives are heading in so many directions that there will never be a unified voice amongst us....

I think you're illustrating the fact that the train is moving on the track and the "conservatives" on the train are blaming the people on the platform of "moving to extremism."

No, conservatism once ONLY meant just that, in all areas. There was no inane hair splitting between "fiscal," "social," "defense," "bla bla bla" conservatism. When you were conservative, that covered the whole ball of wax.

Those not subscribing to this once unified understanding are the ones who have moved - left.

“Sarah Palin has little, if any, understanding of the underlying moral disease that is killing the American republic. The best she can manage is occasional lip service to a vague understanding of some of the symptoms. When it isn’t too costly to do so.”

I agree. Her silence on the repealing of DADT in December was telling. However, Mike Huckabee was as silent and stands guilty too. As are others. They COULD have made of difference by stirring up the people against what the lame duck congress was doing. The did NOTHING when it could have mattered. This issue isn’t important to them, so they become unimportant to me as a moral conservative.

IF a candidate for the GOP nomination wants my support, they must CLEARLY be against the continued normalization of homosexuality in both law and our culture.

Why, you rightly ask, would someone touted as the maverick spokesman for the pro-life, pro-family tea-party grass roots of the GOP be anxious to make it clear that she had no problem with the push to make GOProud an icon of conservative legitimacy?

Either Keyes is lying or he's an idiot.

Keyes offers no evidence that Palin wants GOPround to be an icon of conservative legitimacy.

And I haven't seen any.

“Please post any statement or article where Governor Palin explicitly endorses or is sympathetic to the homosexual agenda.”

No you Please post a RECENT article or statement where Sarah Palin CLEARLY, without wiggle, stands AGAINST the repeal of DADT, the normalization of homosexuality, or homosexuality. You won’t find any where she is clear and unambiguous.

Bottom line......she should have stood AGAINST GOProud being at CPAC. Alan Keyes is correct.

However, in fairness to her, she is NOT the ONLY touted “conservative” to be quiet or waffle on this issue.

“she’s Alaskan and she leans libertarian”

Libertarian does not equal Conservative. In many cases Libertarian equates to being libertine. If I were Palin, I would FLEE being labeled libertarian.

Maybe you don't want to see it. I have, repeatedly. She chooses to be "non-judgmental" when it comes to moral issues, all the time.

Sept. 2008:

CHARLIE GIBSON: Homosexuality, genetic or learned?

SARAH PALIN: Oh, I don’t — I don’t know, but I’m not one to judge and, you know, I’m from a family and from a community with many, many members of many diverse backgrounds and I’m not going to judge someone on whether they believe that homosexuality is a choice or genetic. I’m not going to judge them.

My comment was specifically about supposed direct quotes from Palin saying that she wants GOProud to be "an icon of conservative legitimacy". She said no such thing and apparently you agree with me because you've now moved on to some other instances.

She blew it off, like she always does. If it's a moral question, she doesn't want to deal with it. My comment was on point.

"The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who in times of great moral crisis maintain their neutrality." -- Dante

We live in a time of great moral crisis, one that is manifesting itself in many ways, on many fronts. "Leaders" who won't lead in addressing that crisis are worse than useless. They actually serve to feed the destruction.

Here's a real quote in full context from Palin on the subject of CPAC, GOPround and conservatives who speak at CPAC.

Notice that she compares CPAC w/GOProud to a "panel shoot" of "liberal folks".

Palin is looking more and more like a sellout and typical politician everyday. What is the next issue she’ll sellout out on to try and make herself look more appealing to the media for a Presidential run?

Obviously, you do not know that her royalty tax on oil companies was so excessive it forced Conoco phillips to leave Alaska.

What exactly did Palin say?

That she had no problem with GOProud being at CPAC. There is also evidence she had no problem with DADT being repealed.

The guy was doper and it was obvious he was selling drugs. I mentioned to an elderly neighbor (in his late 80's)and he responded that it wasn't any of my business what he did at his own house and also added that Alaskans didn't want this place turning into the lower 48. This guy was ultra conservative

Conservatives know drug dealing is a danger to he quality of life of everyone and oppose it.

If Palin believes in drug legalization, she is unfit for any office.
