I went to a high school wrestling meet that had male and female competing with one another. To me it was shocking because, in any other environment, the males would be arrested for assault. No body part is exempt. It is a very bad idea.
Furthermore, on the subject of male/female competition, one boy not to be outdone by a larger female competitor, broke his femur bone, attempting to throw her off his back.
It makes one wonder to what extent women win because they are given a little more leeway. Male/female wrestling competition is inappropriate.
Unless the girl is over 18, she cannot legally consent to having a boy grab her breasts or her crotch. Any boy who wrestles her could be charged with a felony and have to register for the rest of his life as a sex offender.
And the girl does not even have to be the complainant. Anyone in the audience who witnessed the groping could bring it to the attention of the police and district attorney.
I am certain that there is no “wrestling” exemption for felony sexual assault on a minor. If there is, then somebody show me the law.
High school wrestlers are matched by weight, regardless of gender. They had to be with in 6-7 pounds of each other.
I've never heard of anybody breaking a femur attempting a wrestling move, but it doesn't sound like something you could blame on the opponent.
