Google executive Wael Ghonim, who emerged as a leading voice in Egypt's uprising, was barred from the stage in Tahrir Square on Friday by security guards, an AFP photographer said. Ghonim tried to take the stage in Tahrir, the epicentre of anti-regime protests that toppled President Hosni Mubarak, but men who appeared to be guarding influential Muslim cleric Yusuf al-Qaradawi barred him from doing so.

Ghonim, who was angered by the episode, then left the square with his face hidden by an Egyptian flag.

Qaradawi gave a Friday sermon in the square, where hundreds of thousands of people gathered a week after Mubarak's fall, in which he called for Arab leaders to listen to their people.

The only hope we have is the military separates church and state in the new constitution and tries to follow the Turkish model.

Well it didn’t take long for Egypt to get it’s “Kropotkin”. Actual democracy proponents are irrelevent now that the Egyptian “Ayatolla” has returned.

The slow motion train wreck unfolds before our very eyes. So predictable yet there it is and you can’t do a damned thing about it.

He should have flown home and attended the Obama gathering of the elites last night in Woodside, California. I’m sure they would have appreciated his presence more than the Islamists.

when will the left wake up and understand that the world is not a la la land.

The left was used, they now have no clue what to do or how to spin this and obama and his thugs who were behind this are probably telling the media to go elsewhere and stop looking at that country now

I say it’s a good thing. To reference your screen name, this brings TRUTH into the open, unobscured by spin and communist media. It is similar to when Hamas took control of Gaza. Until you can see the enemy it is hard to fight him.

I’ve heard it said recently that the world is not like what you learned about in junior high civics class (which I don’t think they teach anymore anyway). It is more like the junior high playground rules.

The route has now been paved for the rise of a new Khomeini and Obama's Administration has a hand in this by pushing Islamists for inclusion in the new government.

In Iran, I bet Rasfanjani and Trotsky are soon going to have a lot in common.

They'll both have big holes in their heads.

IMHO they're well aware of the whole situation; they just don't want to admit that they're wrong. Their whole illogical world then can be called into question which points to the fact that their entire philosophy is wrong. They'll Never admit they are wrong; a conserative has to give them a way to save face or they have to come to have humility like the ex-libs who admit they were misguided in their youth.
