In CNN interview, veteran reporter refuses to call comments urging Jews to leave Israel and return to Europe insensitive, says Israel's treatment of the Palestinians is the real insensitivity.
The Jews did not have to leave Germany and Poland following the Holocaust since they were not being persecuted anymore, former White House correspondent Helen Thomas said in an interview on Thursday, adding that the Jews had no right to take other people's land.
Thomas, 90, stepped down from her job as a columnist for Hearst News Service in June of last year after a rabbi and independent filmmaker videotaped her outside the White House calling on Israelis to get "out of Palestine."

That has always been my assumption about her.

and the “Palestinian refugees” didn’t have to leave Israel. “Other people’s land” is an interesting phrase.
She should have to go sit in the corner with all those old concentration camp guards.
Did the ugly on the outside seep down to the inside, or did the ugly on the inside bubble up to the outside? I should apply for a grant to study that.
She's just something the thoroughbreds left behind.

Suggestion: Put her on display in the museum; Auschwitz, Buchenwald, Dachau. Any of the old camps will do nicely. She can be her own exhibit of the last Nazi journalist.
Jews did not want to be dependent on other nations’ goodwill for survival ever again.
Hence, the nation of Israel.

When I think of Helen, I think of someone roasting in hell. She’s mean-spirited. She’s vicious. She’s heartless. She’s spiteful. It’s good for Helen that God dispenses final justice and not me.
What exactly are the Jews of Israel doing to the Palestinians? Is there a specific list of grievances? Is it ongoing or just historic, i.e. “You took our land”? How much money has been given to the Palestinians by the US, Western Europe, and others?
Few points, Helen:
1. Jews that did return to their homes generally found them occupied by non-Jewish Germans, French, or whomever, and were killed.
2. The land they went to live on had been purchased over the last 100 years by Jews or Zionist groupes, from willing sellers, largely absentee landowners.
Is it anti-Semitism or senility?
Gee Helen, you suppose maybe they didn’t feel welcome there anymore?
