Unions eat your brain. My son could be the identical twin of Joe the Plumber...but he is a member of a powerful union (not municipal, thank goodness) and he’s an insane leftist.

It’s a pity, aince a lot of normal guys get into a union just because they have to join it as an employment condition and then suddenly their lives revolve around nothing but hating their employer and conserving their jobs (and maybe they would have been happier if they had actually had to go out and look for something else or start their own businesses, rather than working in an outmoded, union-conserved job with a hateful union boss). Oh - it also revolves around conserving the jobs of people any boss would have fired.

They had one convicted child-molester sitting in my son’s office (collecting full pay) for years and years. He couldn’t be around the public and the company therefore couldn’t use him, but the union fought for his job. The union system does nothing but preserve and promote dysfunctionality.

I worked at the Auto Parts plant at few years ago. Management could not terminate a certain skilled trades union member. Only when that employee turned his eratic behavior towards his brothers, did the union agree to terminate the loon

Gosh, I feel for you, having a son who is a liberal, lol.

My son is a super libertarian, so we don't see eye-to-eye on many issues but sometimes we do.

Of my 2 girls, one is a moderate conservative who loves debating (trying to, rather) with brain-dead liberals on message boards.

My younger daughter doesn't really like politics...although she's still in college and hasn't let the loony professors get to her, so there's hope there!
