I hope this galvanises other Govs to cut and cut hard.

Its a case of “we dont have the money and if I don’t cut, we are gonna be bust”.

The Dems cannot get this into their thick heads, for gods sake just look at California, do we need 50 of those before they get their heads out of their butts.

It's happening here in Ohio through the work of our new Republican Governor and legislature. God bless America!

“The Dems cannot get this into their thick heads,”

Nor can so many with a hard-core union mentality. I mean no offense to anyone here who may be union. But in general, the union way of thinking is like public sector mindset - the very antithesis of entrepeneurship and business problem-solving. Many unions have become so big and so powerful over the years that they’ve morphed into bullies who use their members shamelessly, and have broken some of the strongest industries that built this country. They just don’t believe that “The Man” could ever run out of money.

They’re (including the MSM) all making such a big deal out of what Gov. Walker and others are trying to do, but roughly half of the states already have either no collective bargaining for public employees or restrictions on it.

And what they’re being asked to do in Wisc. is contribute only a paltry amount toward their blue-chip benefits, far less than their private sector counterparts (who are also getting paid around 40% less).

Can you imagine what would happen if they were asked to take pay cuts or a pay/raise freeze or, worse yet, if layoffs became necessary?

I guess we’d be seeing real blood in the streets then. Yet many of us out here in the “real world” have found ourselves in one of those situations at least once. Sometimes it becomes necessary for even the kindest of business owners to take such measures, and I’m pretty sure most (if not all) of us here took it like big boys and girls.
