This thread has certainly exposed just how far the caliber of Freepers has been ‘adulterated’ in the past 2-3 years.

Disheartening.

THE CALL WAS FOR HIS & HIS UNITS MORALE. Sheesh some people don't have a clue.. With a smaller and smaller military more troops are staying deployed much longer some with little down time back in the states. Being deployed to Germany and stationed at an Army or Air base with communication capabilities is one thing. Where he was is quite another.

I do not think it too unreasonable not a sin or even a waste of taxpayer money to give a GI in such places where he is a few minutes worth of call home once a month. Any C.O. worth their salt does morale boosters. It's not like he could wait and call back after her shift.

She is a spoiled little whiner. She is a mother of a patriot serving this nation.

She is lucky to just get a warning. Tennessee is a right to work state so she could have been fired.

Tennessee is Tennessee, pity the fool who finds himself saying what her manager did in Tennessee. Anyway, look in other places, you will see they retreated from this position fast.

Glad to know you support military families with all of your heart and soul.

Turkeys fatten themselves on the ‘spilled’ feed, then go in the freezer. ...We “feed” them; then they feed us.

sounds good.

Yes, I have those meandering turkeys too.

Right no, as an ole great granny, I'm holding off on laying hens and rabbits -but will be doing that once my son and wife can get off the road to build the coops and pens.

On the farm, we had the big animals, but I wouldn't want that. Too much land, housing, feed.

But laying/meat hens and rabbits seems the way to go - and maybe some grouse.

I never have to run to store because "a storm is coming!" Always plenty of cupboard stuff.

I render my own lard and make up 4 lbs worth of ghee at a time, so always have plenty of good frying/baking grease and butter on hand - without need of refrigeration.

And a whiner who thinks nothing of upsetting the necessary orderlyness of a manufacturing plant.

She obviously didn’t think the phone call was very important, or she would have made arrangments.

Read the posts upthread about just who the people and the company are. There are posters here who seem to have firsthand knowledge.

They have character. She has displayed her lack thereof.

Right in one. Blue Star mom wanting to be there for her son and you are saying she knows the rule book. Not the most compassionate position. It may not be fair, but then again, an expectant father would expect the same consideration.

Its a funny thing about rules and ruling. You make a hard rule and someone always comes up with the exception that makes you look like an ass. Then you bend the rule and then you get tested with one exception after another until you have had enough. Ultimately you write some rules you can actually enforce that have appropriate exceptions noted and communicated.
