There are two vessels.
One is a “transport”

That makes the other a guard ship

The question not asked is what is so big it must be delivered to Syria on a ship?

The eastern Mediterranean's largest artificial reef, hopefully.

Probably a trial run, if boarded they will have nothing, do that a few times and the cargo will be loaded for delivery..
I am sure Israel is looking at other areas to check if Iranian ships are a distraction..
But I personally hope they will sink them anyway, just to make it clear they will not tolerate it...who cares what Ohbammma mamba Jamba Lenin Khomeini thinks..

The US Navy should shadow this two ships and occasionally buzz them. Do anything to get them to take action and then sink them. No other way, boys. Time to put stupid communists King Obama on alert that he will lose our military if he does not use some smarts. Whoops! King Obama has smarts???????????

We should meet them and sink them.
They have no need to be there, they are only trying to stir up a hornets nest and intimidate Israel.
Board them, skittle their ship and let them walk home.

One of the reports I read said that a condition of passage was that the Iranian ships were not taking weapons to Syria.

I would bet just about anything that they are stuffed full of weapons to help arm terrorist groups fighting against Israel, and Coalition forces in Iraqi and Afghanistan.

It would be interesting if Egyptian forces performed a search of the ships to see if they were conforming to the passage requirements prior to them unloading their supplies for terrorists.
