Late last week, the Arizona Senate passed Senate Bill 1178, the Intrastate Commerce Act. The bill provides that all services performed in the state, and all goods grown or made here for consumption within Arizona “are not subject to the authority of Congress under its constitutional power to regulate commerce among the several states.”
The vote was 21-8-1
Included in the bill’s language are penalties for federal agents violating the state law – in James Madison’s words, interposition, or “standing between” the federal government and the people of the state.
The bill states that any federal agent or employee who attempts to enforce any federal act, rule or regulation over these activities is guilty of a Class 6 felony. While the measure does not seek jail time, it allows fines of up to $2,000. And any state official that tries to enforce a federal law could face a $500 fine.
Sen. Sylvia Allen, R-Snowflake, who crafted most of the proposals, said it’s time Arizona stood up to the federal government. And she said if arresting some federal officials is what it takes, she’s prepared to do that.
“If we don’t show that we’re serious about this, then how is the federal government going to respect us?” Allen continued. “Instead, they come into our state and they fine us … and fine our businesses and our farmers.”

There’s that 2-mile-deep strip along the border that, since it’s a no-go zone for Law Enforcement, is pretty much empty and wasted land - which would serve wonderfully as a penal colony for encroaching Feds....

Does that mean that state LEOs are specifically prohibited from enforcing ANY federal laws??? That seems a bit odd.

Well, that was Obama’s position on AZ immigration law.
This needs to pass! The federal government thinks anything and everything it does is superior to the States, and that isn’t true. The federal goverment is severely restricted by the US Constitution and until the States uphold the US Constitution the fed will continue to overthrow the US government as it has.
Has mac daddy been a blessing in disguise and awaken a sleeping giant like the japanese did. He has thumbed his nose at the American voters. He has lied to the American. He has tried to bankrupt America. Etc, etc,etc. Matbe, just maybe the voters have had enough and are ready to level the playing field, stop the ripping off of the American voters money, end the corruption at the higest level and stop the higest level of elected officals from selling themselves to the highest bidder. If this happens, we can all thank mac daddy for his service.
At the same time, the Several States need to understand that they do not have the authority to charge their citizens any so-called “use tax” on items purchased outside their states.
Those are nothing more than tariffs between the Several States. And that truly is a power granted solely to the Federal Government by the Constitution.

True, but I think it would be optimal if state LEOs would be allowed to simply do their jobs in busting criminals without regard for where the original jurisdiction lies.
Heck, I’d like it if they’d arrest the illegals and simply hold them in a cell until the feds come and get them. Call up ICE and say “We’ve got some illegals for you and we’re going to charge you $45 a day for housing and feeding them. They’ll be here for as long as it takes until you guys come pick them up.”
If the illegals find out that they’ll be held indefinitely, they’ll probably not want to stick around that area very long. Then other states can do the same.

States need to criminalize Feds who violate state laws. Let’s see the Fed Govt raise an army to invade Arizona.
Still cannot figure out how Arizona voted for John McCain over JD Hayworth, and managed to vote for some state politicians with leadership.
You do not see that leadership in Florida....where the Governor is already waffling on the light-rail boondoggle he originally killed

Texas gov Rick Perry is a NAFTA-loving/North American Union/NAFTA Superhighway big gov’t extremist....contrary to that book he wrote....too much illegal alien sympathy, support for NAFTA, does not help Texas when asserting its state soverignty

Sheriff’s Babeu and Arpaio both need to assemble a posse force of around 5K volunteers for short notice work. They will come in handy when the SHTF.
