JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- A construction worker who shot and killed a pit bull that was threatening children on Fort George Island spoke to Channel 4 Monday night about the frightening moments that lead him to pull the trigger.
Kelly Multon said a pack of five dogs cornered children near by and when one of those dogs bit him, he took action.
"The kids momma is a hero," said Multon. "She went out with a broomstick and fought off the dogs to get her babies in the house."
Moulton said after hearing kids screaming, he jumped a fence and ran to help. When Multon got to the dogs they started attacking him.
"I turned around, walking back, I ain't never seen nothing like it," said Multon. The dogs ripped Multon's pants and one of them bit him.
"The dogs were trying to get in the boat with me," said Multon. "I hollered, bring my truck over here. He pulled the truck up next to the boat, handed me my pistol. I popped one of them, the rest run off."
Multon said he was he was just trying to run the dogs off but when they started attacking he knew he had to take drastic action to save himself and the children in trouble.
"I'd rather just sit in the back and be quiet," said Multon. "But anybody's gonna react to kids screaming and crying."

Good for him and the momma as well.
As usual, no owners of the pits identified.
Ghetto posers and hick losers have made a fine breed a pariah with their stupidity.
When attacking in packs, its hard to stop dogs. One dog, you can handle, two or more, you are screwed. Five dogs? God help you, that and a gun :)
