NEW DELHI (AP) -- Tens of thousands of trade union supporters marched through India's capital on Wednesday to express frustration with high food prices and endemic corruption.

At least 40,000 demonstrators, some coming by train from outside the capital, marched through the city toward Parliament, Delhi Traffic Police constable Sham Lal said. Organizers put the number of protesters at about 100,000.

Participants came from trade unions linked with both the opposition Communist Party and the governing Congress Party.

Many carried red Communist flags showing a hammer and sickle as they made their way down streets decorated in Communist Party posters.

They chanted anti-government slogans accusing the government of failing to curb inflation and corruption.

US prints money. Americans used that money to buy stuff from overseas. Foreign central banks print extra currency to buy up extra USD to keep currency exchange stable, which leads to high food prices. US is exporting its inflation all around the world causing riots everywhere

How long, how much longer...will the world put up with it?

We’re crashing the world around us, the world we have grown to depend on for fuel, food, clothing...

We aren’t, Obama is! And I understand that our President is a political extension of the voters, but if this usurper doesn’t open the eyes of Americans and the world, then we’re in for very deep trouble over the next 25 - 50 years.

While many of us are plowing away at our debt, trying to get liquid again, living within our means, our government is using our money for bullshit like high speed rail and universal health care despite the protestations of the people.

I pray that 2012 stops this train dead in its tracks, removes it from the rails, and allows the old steam engine of American ingenuity and stability to start roaring down the tracks again. Sometimes the old ways are the best ways...

Isn’t this type of mass protest pretty common in India?

It’s actually Obama’s bosses - Bernanke and the banks. They’ll set fire to the whole world rather than take the losses due to them.
