Rush Limbaugh thinks Michelle Obama is a big, fat idiot.
The broadcaster announced during his show Monday that the first lady "took the kids out to Vail on a ski vacation, and they were spotted eating, and they were feasting on ribs - ribs that were 1,575 calories per serving with 141 grams of fat."
Actually, the restaurant put the calorie count at 600, but Rush was determined to chew out Obama. "The problem is - and dare I say this? - it doesn't look like Michelle Obama follows her own nutritionary, dietary advice," he said. "I'm trying to say that our first lady does not project the image of women that you might see on the cover of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue."
Limbaugh is in an excellent position to make this observation, being perhaps the finest example of the male form since Michelangelo sculpted David. In 2009, he went on a fad diet, full of controversial supplements but little exercise, and lost 90 pounds. Such crash diets are dangerous - and, sure enough, Limbaugh wound up in the hospital at the end of the year with chest pains. Judging from recent video footage, he has regained most of the bulk.

No real rack of ribs is going to be 600 calories. Hell, many of the salads at restaurants are well over 1000 calories. I would guess most full rib meals at restaurants are at least 900 calories....most in the range he was talking about on the show. Ribs are very fatty, and unless you had very lean portion with a low calorie sauce, it is not a light meal.
Also, in defense of Rush, the point isn’t criticizing the First Lady for the sake of it. She has taken a hypocritical position on eating and wants to control restaurant and school menus. She is taking a policy position, and is subject to criticism.

The last thing we need is to create sympathy for Michelle Obama and that is precisely what Rush is doing in the eyes of independents and moderate democrats.

Rush is just exposing the 1st Wookie as a the hypocrite that she really is.
So, dollars to donuts, seeing the menue, you think she had a 500 calorie dinner, with her size and that nice, hoity toity food drag across her?

Rush, was right. She was lucky to get out of there at 1,500 calories.

That means a serving size of 21.13 OZ is 1576 calories. The serving size for the rib listed in the article is 5 oz...a far cry from a 21 oz rib...and yes...I've eaten both. ;-P
How would you know how “independents” view Mrs.Obama? Any thinking person would naturally be offended by how this woman lives on the public treasury, and yet presumes to tell the rest of us how to live. Defend her if you must, but she is being criticized in the arena she chose.
