Cut this fool some slack. We all know that teachers are underpaid, overworked and under-appreciated. They constantly tell us so. How can someone who “works” about 8 months each year, has interminable holidays, teacher days and sick days, has free “cadillac” health insurance, has tenure, can retire at any age, earns more than most people and has a loser, education degree gripe? What a total self-centered putz. This guy is afraid the hard-working homeowners won’t be shoveling him more slop at his trough. Tough luck, you commie freak.

Government schools are to learning what government housing is to neighborlinesses.
Government. The highest cost, lowest quality of antiquated goods and services provided poorly, broken and late.

Judge in D.C. ordered fired teachers to receive back pay.
CA Courts demanded that there be NO furloughs, no layoffs, etc.
NY Courts disallowed the Governor to layoff, furlough, or cut pay.
The unions rush into Court and they win!
Damn the taxpayer.

No, but a sovereign speaks for the whole of the people.
Main reason they are such a bad idea - kind of like a President with too much power.

I thought unions always preferred their people to lose their jobs over losing their bargaining rights or having even a minor reduction in benefits! Actually, unions are best known for enriching existing members at the expense of new members.

I agree that teaching is a tough job...I, too, was teacher and I found that for most long term teachers it is not a difficult job. Those that try to perform their duties to a satisfactory level soon burn out and quit.
I did and I assume you did too.

I always try to do a good job wherever I work.
Most of my teachers that I had when I was a student were good, but that was decades ago and the work ethic hadn't eroded away yet.
;-)
I did have one remarkably lazy professor.
Someone asked him a question in a technology class. He refused to give an answer to the class. He said, “That's in the book.”
He didn't lecture, he would only read out of the book.
One day a student said, “We could sit up there and do that, read out of the book.”
I imagine they have more teachers like him now-days in the public schools....

I have noticed my whole life that a union would rather have the plant or whatever shut down and everyone lose their jobs than to take a reduction in benefits.
