Woods kicked to curb, then kicked around

MARANA, Ariz. -- The last time he played, Tiger Woods committed an act on television that made some folks want to cover their eyes.

This time, sensitive types could well have covered their ears.

Moments after he lost a first-round match for only the second time in 10 trips to the Accenture Match Play Championship, Woods uttered a vulgarity to describe both his game and state of mind.

Asked where he was in the yearlong process of rebuilding his sliding game, Woods looked Golf Channel/NBC reporter Roger Maltbie in the eye and said, "Pissed. That's where I'm at right now."

After a back-and-forth fight with Thomas Bjorn, Woods made a clutch 8-footer on the 18th hole to extend the match, then shoved his 3-wood tee shot on the first extra hole into the desert, where his next shot failed to extricate the ball from a thorny bush. Woods eventually conceded the match on the green.

"I was trying to hit a ball in play," he said. "The fairway is what, 200 yards wide? That's very disappointing."

The three-time Accenture champion lost in the first round only once before, to Peter O'Malley, in 2002.

"I had the momentum going to the 19th hole and I blew it," Woods said dejectedly.

Woods hadn't played in the event since 2009, when he was making his first start after having reconstructive knee surgery. He was bounced in the second round by Tim Clark. Bjorn confirmed the obvious, admitting it wasn't particularly pretty on either front.

"You didn't know who was going to hit a bad shot next," the Dane said.

We used to always assume it would be the other guy. Not anymore.

the cure is usually permanent and irreversible

Only if your therapist is Lorena Bobbit.

How soon the American people forget. If this man never hit another golf ball for the rest of his life, he would still be one of the best golfers to ever live on Planet Earth. Give it a rest. I'm sure none of us have ever screwed up in life.

Will a bust of Dr Galea be next to Tiger's bust in the PGA hall of fame?

Tiger needs to head to Canada soon, only 6 weeks before the Masters

She'll never be much of a golfer because of her tendency to slice.

Younger and longer guys like 21 year old McIlroy are one reason why Tiger is fading fast. I get so sick on the fan boy media because they fawn over him like they fawn over Obama.

I see Phil won today and the Stewart Cink Ian Poulter match was supposedly a good one.

They started testing a week after he split to get his knee rebuilt. Something about all that was fishy. He was connected to that Canadian “doctor” who is well known in the juicer/steroids world.

I think he is now Jason Giambi. Giambi crushed the ball when he was on the juice. He confessed, stayed in baseball but lost most of his power and was/is a so so player. Once he stopped the roids - he lost a lot of that muscle mass. Tiger still has the steroid fits of rage though.

All I know is what I see, and Woods’ muscle is not as thick as it was before the scandal hit. Why is that? I’m not making any accusations, but I know I’m looking at a thinner, weaker Tiger Woods.

bingo.... we have a winner in the REAL meltdown of the Tiger. It's a lot easier to hit a 7 iron 180 than a 5 iron. It's also nice to get a little help with your "recovery", which is what steroids really provide.

Funny how he had to go to Canada to find an orthopedic surgeon and rehabilitative specialist that just happens to be the favorite destination for many NFL players as well.

It was NOT against the PGA tour's regulations to use performance enhancing drugs till recently.

Yeah right Tiger fan boy. He plays in Australia at the end of the year to get appearance money and plays against Aussie club pros. Sort of like getting a past their prime boxer to roll drunks in the ring.

Tiger is a POS. He got his a*s kicked last week in Dubai by the Spanish bull Alvaro Quiros. The Spaniard is about 40 yards past Tiger off the tee.

Realistically - Tiger is no longer in the top 15 or maybe top 20 anymore.

Bingo - we have a winner. The PGA had heart failure when that happened. They knew the jig was up. Don't be surprised if they don't let him go back on the sauce.

BS. Jack was better and so was Ben Hogan. Hogan’s body was destroyed when his car was hit head on by a Greyhound bus and he came back and still won majors.

LOL! If Phil plays like he played last year - he will be tough to beat. I watched it on the computer cause I dumped TV. Phil’s iron and wedge shots were out of this world.

Also I think with steroid he was fresh on Sunday while other guys were a little tired because you bounce back faster. Also the roid forearms increased control of the shots.

He is not even that long anymore and I think it is like Giambi was a home run hitter then off the juice he tried to be a base hit hitter.

Tiger is not that long now. 21 yr old McIlroy is longer and he is only about 5’9 1/2” and is fairly slight. He uses tempo and club head speed. Te bombers like Watson, DJ, Quiros and even Phil are a lot longer now too.

I guess you didn't see the: “ONE of the best”. I didn't say THE best. Although he is in the top five.
