Real Leadership: Sarah Palin Calls on NATO to Save Libyan People – NATO Responds

The difference between voting present and real leadership.

(Big Hollywood) Yesterday, Sarah Palin called on NATO to enforce the no-fly zone over Libya. From her Facebook Page, via FOX Nation:

It’s a little perplexing looking at the White House today. There was a statement on the horrible earthquake in New Zealand, and certainly our hearts go out to all those affected by this horrible natural disaster. But nothing on the slaughter in Libya? The protests in many places in the Middle East affect regimes that have cooperated with the U.S. on issues from peace with Israel, fighting al Qaeda, hosting our military forces, or cooperating against Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Gaddafi’s Libya is different. For four decades, this tyrant has held power. Gaddafi was Osama before Osama hit the scene. He ordered the bombing of a disco in Germany to kill Americans. When he paid the price for that – after President Reagan rightly ordered retaliation – he directed his agents to blow up Pan Am Flight 103. They did, and more than 250 innocent people died. Gaddafi tried to come in from the cold in 2003 – scared by the demonstration effect of Iraq. But we should have no illusions. Gaddafi is a brutal killer and Libya – not to mention the world – would be better off if he were out of power. Now is the time to speak out. Speak out for the long-suffering Libyan people. Speak out for the victims of Gaddafi’s terror. NATO and our allies should look at establishing a no-fly zone so Libyan air forces cannot continue slaughtering the Libyan people. We should not be afraid of freedom, especially when it comes to people suffering under a brutal enemy of America.

Today, NATO officials responded. YNet News reported:

NATO forces may attack forces loyal to Muammar Gaddafi if the Libyan air force continues to bomb anti-government protesters, the London-based al-Quds al-Arabi reported, citing a European official claiming the US had threatened to intervene in the violence.

Oh…. And, of course, Sarah Palin isn’t even in office.

Meanwhile, somewhere hiding out in the White House, Obama voted present.

No one in the Obama administration knows what “NATO” stands for-it’s not in the community organizer’s lexicon.

I would rather say, playing golf or watching some sports game than hiding out, in description of the White House.

It appears there is upheaval brewing around the world. Even the ChiComs have cranked up security on fears of student.youth revolt

Meanwhile, Barry is planning a Motown concert in the white house. (Dear Diary. Today I got Diana Ross' autograph)

What about the tens of thousands of American citizens in Libya? Do they become hostages once we announce a military intervention? I am more concerned about their safety than that of Libyans.

I seem to recall Reagan did a little saber-rattling before he was elected. That’s why the Iranian hostage crisis ended immediately upon his taking office. The international community already knew what he was made of and they did want to mess with him. This is a foreshadowing of things to come for Sarah.

Having been shamed by Palin again, Obama will retroactively announce that this was his idea all along.

Unless it goes badly, then Obama will unsay it, and the media will forget they ever heard it and will blame Palin for the bad news.

My guess is that a NEO (Non Evacuation Operation) is most likely being performed as we speak if not done already. One Amphibious Naval group would be all thats needed to complete the task.

I wonder - did she go further than just facebook and actually write to NATO officials?

I bet she did.

Oh ye of little faith. Obama has already declared that he is going to "intensify consultations."

Intensify consultations! Take that Palin! Bambi's such an action hero: he's like the movie "Air Force One" all the time!!!

I dunno. Yes, what Daffy is doing to his people, using hired mercenaries is criminal. But, the Libyans are Muslims, and Muslim gratitude to the US is fleeting. How much love did we get for interfering in Serbia and Kosovo on behalf of Muslims?

So, I have mixed feelings here.

What his critics fail to remember is that Obama has a Nobel Peace Prize. At some appropriate moment Obama will start a conversation with no preconditions that will result in the Pax Obama.

Wait! No where in the Obama handbook does it say ‘intensify consultations’! Call someone! The man is wandering off the reservation!
It’s like this:
First a stern warning,
Second, a harshly worded letter; then,
Oh look a butterfly! ......
