It took over a million in nine years then.
It obviously isn’t as bad today as it was then.
At the rate of 1,000 leaving Ireland a week ( current figures ), it will take 20 years to reach the 1 million number.
Hopefully, Ireland will have fixed whatever financial problems she has then ( or will she ?).
