WASHINGTON- A coalition of 34,000 black churches is blasting President Barack Obama's decision to stop defending the federal law that bans recognition of gay marriage.

The Rev. Anthony Evans, who heads the National Black Church Initiative, says Obama "has violated the Christian faith" by failing to uphold Jesus' teaching that marriage is between a man and a woman.

As a result, Evans says black churches must "reassess their extraordinary support for him."

So how is that little tax increase affecting you in Illinois?
Are the masses going ape over it?
Got to believe at least a few businesses are going to relocate elsewhere along with a few rich folk?

I'll believe that when I see it.

Amen to that.

Agree! And it undercuts my esteem of Roberts, too. Surely the Chief Justice had a say in the matter. Why did he allow it to be private? Does that have anything to do with the heavy-handedly dismissive way the SC has dealt with Eligibility issues?

Obama hasn’t certainly acted like a man who respects Roberts, or who believes the CJ has anything on him. Obama’s disgusting behavior toward the justices during the SOTU two years ago looked more like a man jabbing his thumb in the eye of underlings than a man secretly thinking, ‘Roberts could ‘out’ me if he were so inclined; I’d better treat him with respect’.

I just don’t know. I wish there were more answers, but all there we have is questions.

A small few will, but in the end, they will keep voting like loyal drones.

If the Ø's outright contempt for all things Christian hasn't awakened them 'til now, nothing will.

Talk about taking the idea of judging a man not by the color of his skin but the content of his character and throwing it out the window.

MLK would flat out disown this generation of black Americans. I'm sure of it.

Anyone else think Obozo’s chances of getting reelected in 2012 just dropped?

The way things are going, with all three branches of government now concentrated in one person, I don't think we're going to make it to 2012 intact.

Questions the criminal media will not ask.

There is some condemnation of it, but there needs to be a helluva lot more.

The Rats, especially the Chicago Rats, are turning this state into a Marxist sh*thole.

The term ‘black church’, though, is an oxymoron when describing Christian thinking, for there is no Jew nor Gentile in the Church Age amongst believers.

I totally agree. In fact, I only emphasized the term in the heading for the political nature of the article. With regard to the Christian faith, you are 100% correct - it's one body - the body of Christ.

Not Much evidence he’s a Christian.

If Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago can be called "Christian" why not Obama? The Marxists have done a good job of redefining the word, just as they have for many others - "racism", "rape" e.g.
