I always thought the Mujahideen were Afghani warlords who fought the Soviets in the ‘80s...later related to Osama bin Laden.
There’s Mujahideen in Libya?
Mujahideen is just an Arabic word meaning a group which “does” jihad (from the Arabic root letters J, H, and D). It was a popular “title” to ascribe to the guerrillas who fought the Soviets in Afghanistan by journalists who picked it up and thought it was “special”.
