After seven years as chief legal counsel at health giant UPMC, former federal judge Robert J. Cindrich had one important piece of business to finish.
One of his pet projects involved an ambitious proposal to create a one-of-a-kind vaccine factory in Western Pennsylvania that could create 1,000 jobs. Cindrich, who wanted to step down from his demanding job, felt an obligation to stay until he wrapped up the vaccine project.
"I want to finish this," said Cindrich, 67, who served as a judge in the U.S. District Court in Pittsburgh for 10 years. "Just to hand it over without any kind of transition would not have been good."
While he eventually gave up his title, Cindrich stayed on as a special adviser in the office of UPMC President Jeffrey Romoff. He is committed to staying on until the federal government, which would pay for half the cost of the project, makes a final decision about the vaccine factory.
That could happen soon. Officials with the Department of Health and Human Services say they will formally request proposals for special vaccine centers by March.
The proposals will be due 90 days later, and contract awards could be made by the end of the year, said Robin Robinson, director of the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority, a federal agency that develops and provides medical countermeasures to man-made and natural threats such as chemical and biological weapons.

I have an immunity problem but am afraid to get flu shots, etc. because I don’t know what’s in them, so just skip it. We could ask our doctors what’s in the various shots, though.
Cute! I had to put the evil alert on......this is being advocated by left wingers & there’s something disturbing that a former federal judge would be behind this, too. Its very weird. Plus, we all know that the vaccine industry is a bit shady.
This could be a good thing if the vaccines are created using existing methods.
I'm not a big fan of GE, but glad to see when they devote themselves to actually manufacturing things rather than just moving money and paper around.
Do your research. The DNA used in vaccines comes from fetal tissue, most often aborted babies. Why do you think the left pushes so hard for embryonic stem cell research? Seriously, wake up. You need to inform yourself.
Vitamin D might make a big difference for you. It did for me, a huge difference actually. If you don’t spend much time in the sun you could have a serious deficiency of it. I burn in minutes in the summer sun (red hair, very light skinned) and I work inside all day. The D3 2000 IU tiny gel caps are the best, one a day. Typical multivitamins don’t have nearly enough to make a difference.
I went from getting several nasty colds a year, usually repeating in a string and feeling really bad to perhaps a couple of colds over the last 2-1/2 years and they were so mild I barely knew I had them. Seriously. I say perhaps a couple of colds because honestly there were several times I didn’t really know if I had one or not and they lasted less then two days...
After almost a year of taking Vit. D3, my level is now normal, thankfully. Unfortunately I still have the immunity problem, and I had to leave my job because of it, but I’m glad my Vit. D is normal, because Vit. D deficiency can also lead to osteoporosis.

I have done my research. Alot of Merck’s vaccines use human diploid cells from aborted babies.

“Two different strains of human diploid cell cultures made from fetuses have been used extensively for vaccine production for decades. One was developed in the United States in 1961 (called WI-38) and the other in the United Kingdom in 1966 (called MRC-5).” ...
“The WI-38 and MRC-5 cell cultures have been used to prepare hundreds of millions of doses of vaccines, preventing millions of cases of rubella, hepatitis A, varicella and rabies. In the United States, only one of these diseases can be prevented with an FDA-licensed vaccine not grown in human diploid cells. This is the RabAvert brand of rabies vaccine manufactured by Chiron Corporation.”
So you’re both right.
Other sites seem to be running loose with the facts implying that a constant supply of new fetuses is required to keep the supply for those two vaccines going.
With the number of abortions performed in the world being as large as it is, I don't think that any company will ever have to encourage or pay a particular woman to have an abortion in order to obtain a particular tissue sample.
The primary moral issue will be that these researchers only have access to these particular types of tissue samples because of the ongoing moral atrocity of abortion.
It has been reported on numerous occasions that adult stem cells have been more successful in treating medical conditions than fetal stem cells. I'm hoping that a suitable substitute for fetal diploid tissue samples can be harvested from consenting adults, but I don't know enough of the science to know if what I am asking is possible or even makes sense to ask.
I don’t like to paint with too broad a brush, but the anti-vax activists can be so devoted to their cause that they are not always above, ahem, stretching the truth a bit.
Many are also johnny-come-latelies to the pro-life cause, which further raises my alert level. My bottom line is that I’d like to see alternative germ lines developed, but frankly, we have much bigger fish to fry, and getting too cozy with the anti-vax crowd does not hasten the day that the abortion machine is brought to a stop.
