Libyan forces have been launched fresh offensives again Zawieh, 30 miles from Tripoli, and Misrata, 125 miles to the east. Rebels said some 2,000 troops loyal to the regime had surrounded Zawieh, but that they had succeeded in holding on to the town centres.
"An aircraft was shot down this morning while it was firing on the local radio station," a witness, who was identified only as Mohamed, said by telephone from Misrata.

Narrows that down...
no kiddin...:)
Does anyone think the “rebels” will be an improvement?
Besides gullible western media and politicians?
Look at it this way: they're not fighting for an improvement, but for an opportunity for an improvement. And that's worth some effort.
Ha ha ha...that narrows it right down, eh? Every third scumbag in the M/E is named "Mohamed", which I believe translates loosely as "sheep f#cker".
I was reading about the ‘Free Libya radio station in Ben Ghazi, saying it’s signal went out to almost/beond Tripoli, and well into many forign counties...If this station is going all the way into the Tusisian Refugee camps...Any chance that Khaddafi can control the news flow is utterly shattered.
People are already calling into the Ben Ghazi station and telling whats going on where thry are, and the station has been receiving donations to pay those working for the new ‘Free Libya’ council.
At least it wasn’t Akmed! or Barak!
I do. I think many are young and they are already, without any help or prompting from us, choosing their leadership from the grassroots up. The *people* are picking their leaders. The *people* are the ones who are keeping the lights on, the water running, the ports re-opening, the banks open, the trash collected...No “strong Man” or Religious slave masters are ordering it.
They are picking their own leaders to run things until they can have a legitimate voting day.
I do not think, after finally casting off a dictator of 40 years, the people of Libya will just accept a new dictator, or let themselves be ruled by Theocratic enslavers.
Yep.....it's contagious.
The king called up his jet fighters
He said you better earn your pay
Drop your bombs between the minarets
Down the Casbah way
