Here's a pretty good indicator of just how resistant Republicans allied with Governor Scott Walker have become to reaching a compromise of any kind with labor and Dems to end the standoff in Wisconsin over the Governor's proposal to roll back public employee bargaining rights.
I'm told that some Republicans in the state senate were so angry at fellow Republican senator Dale Schultz for proposing a modest compromise with unions and senate Dems that they actually threatened at a private meeting to kick him out of the state senate GOP caucus.
This comes to me by way of a source close to the situation. While the idea didn't go anywhere, and it didn't appear to have the support of Wisconsin GOP leaders, it shows how high tensions are running among Wisconsin Republicans who are under heavy pressure from unions, Dems and mass demonstrations to break with Walker.
The proposal by Schultz that so angered fellow Republicans was, after all, a modest one: He suggested that unions agree to have their bargaining rights rolled back right now on the understanding that they would be restored in 2013, after the state got its finances under control. Schultz's compromise got national media attention, which further angered his GOP

A-straight! Throw his ass out. Maybe other RINOs will take notice.
POST HIS INFO
FYI
I believe that’s a big NO to giving any concessions to the RATs & the unions!
It’s because they don’t know how to effectively give em the middle finger.
It’s Chris Christie or bust. I said it over a year ago. Chris. Christie? Are you kidding me? Has anyone asked the Muslims what they would think of a Chris Christie running thangs? Hehe. This is just too..bizarre.
It’s gonna be him. He’s the lawyer from the other side. The one we’ve been waiting for.
It is time to sever the union provisions from the fiscal and pass them with a simple majority quorum. End this now!
This whole issue is like hitting the wasp nest right outside your front door. Dems know what this is all about: how about we ship in “waiting for superman” and show it on a big screen inside the capital rotunda bldg 24 hours a day until everyone has seen this film! I wish I had a million dollars to buy up all the copies available and ship them to every republican senator, congressman, mayor, governor, police chief, dog catcher, etc. More than that, I wish every parent of every public school enrolled child could view this film!
It looks like he was just elected in 2010, so it would be necessary to wait a year for a recall.
Best bet is for constituents in his district to shore up support—email, call, etc. and lobby him to stand firm...
IOW the WI GOP decided not to adopt the Rove/Bush “new tone” that was so successful in the Bush years in DC.
Dale Schultz, 17th Senate District

This number may be the State Senate switchboard—may not work for out-of-state numbers....
The author of this sleazy article is nucking futs. Just WHY does he think state finances are in such a mess now? This would be like the judge telling the convicted arsonist "You are on probation now, but I'll give you your gasoline can back in 2013 after we control all the fires you set."
I don’t necessarily agree—I am “Letting Walker be Walker” he is doing fairly well...did you read his response to bamster’s comments?
He has numerous reasons for not separating the collective bargaining—at least at this time. One of which may be the mandatory dues contribution....I am trusting his judgment.
When Schultz first ran for state office he seemed very conservative; if I had lived in his district I likely would have voted for him, but I fear he has become a RINO.
What the Post doesn’t point out is that many contracts go past 2013, so the new rules would never apply to those contracts. The budget bill does nothing to current deals, it just impacts the contracts that will be negotiated in the future.
If you want proof of that, just look at all the school districts and cities racing against the clock to give away the store to the unions before the budget repair bill becomes law.
Under any circumstances, if the rats win in 2012, they can change the law back in January of 2013.
Call to action...
I would think that some of these Dems are starting to suffer a bit - how would you like to be in a situation where you are not allowed to go to your home? One will crack sometime, or will be caught in state (on purpose).
If you live in Wisconsin—especially GOP districts, email, call fax your State Senators. Charlie Sykes said even Wisco residents not in GOP districts are affected by the legislation and should contact any unsure RINOS.
The Fleabag14 Dems are likely a wasted call. But the GOP Senators are no doubt taking a lot of heat. So it is very important that people lobby them.
Forget Compromising with the left, we know that gets us right back where we are or further down the road to destruction.
The Republicans should be saying the Democrats would be calling FDR and George Meany extreme since they believed that the public sector should have no collecive bargaining rights at all.
They should quit talking to the media that is joined at the hip with Obama, SEIU, and AFSCME and to the fleeing RATS. They should be passing tons of non fiscal legislation right now since the field is clear and they can get it thru the Senate in hours.
School Choice Expansion, Voter ID Requirements, E-verify for Employment, Redistricting reform, concealed carry, etc.
The Republicans never learn to get back on top of the plate after the Rats throw their brushback pitch. They stand at the edge of the batters box and let the them paint the outside corner instead of smacking the ball to the opposite field for hit after hit.
