Facebook, the top social networking site, will receive more than one in five online display ad dollars in the U.S. this year, and Google (GOOG) likely has nothing to fear from the Microsoft (MSFT) -Yahoo (YHOO) alliance, says a report released early Tuesday.

In 2011, Facebook will get 21.6% of all online display ad dollars in the U.S., or $2.19 billion, says the report from research firm eMarketer. That percentage is up from 13.6% last year and 7.3% in 2009.

Yahoo is expected to be No. 2, 16.4% of online display ad sales, followed by Google at 12.6% and AOL(AOL) at 4.4%.

I goofed around in facebook for a few months to keep tabs on my adult daughters. Even that got old. I really tried to get into it but just couldn’t. I also could not stand all the farmville updates from people.

I haven’t been there in months and really have no need to go there. If I want to talk to someone I send an email or call. Posting stuff publicly is ridiculous.

I have set my router up to block it. I have an old friend or two I wouldn’t mind getting in touch with, but I waste enough time on the internet as it is. With Twitter and Facebook, pretty soon, everybody will know where everyone else is.

The upside is that if one wishes to become invisible, it may require nothing more than disconnecting the computer and putting the phone in a lead-lined box.

I HATE FACEBOOK!!!

ha...there, now I feel better. I am not on Facebook, twitter, etc.
Who the h...cares about all this stuff?

I went to a dinner-dance party with some friends and my friend took pictures of all of us at dinner and dancing..and then posted them on HIS facebook. I had nothing to say about that. The pics were tame enough, but the idea was that I maybe did not want them all over the internet. Now I don’t want to have my pics taken at any of this friend’s get togethers. It just puts a damper on everything, cause who knows where the pics go.

Then, the other reason I hate facebook is now with the new phones I can not go to dinner or a party or a get together without people on their phones all the time, instead of socializing with the people there....”Oh, I got to check this, just got a twitter, or a text message or a pic ...” and “ Hey, look at my facebook pics...etc.”

Yeesh.
there I feel better..BTW, am I the only one who hates all this stuff?
