Eric Holder: Black Panther Party Case Focus demeans "my people."
Politico ^ | March 1, 2011

Attorney General Eric Holder finally got fed up with claims that the Justice Department went easy in a voting rights case against members of the Black Panther Party because they are African American. Holder's frustration became evident during a House Appropriations hearing when Rep. John Culbertson (R-Texas) accused the Justice Department of failing to cooperate with a Civil Rights Commission investigation into the handling of the 2008 incident in which Black Panthers in intimidating outfits and wielding clubs stood outside a polling place in Philadelphia. Holder seemed to take personal offense at a comment Culbertson read in which a Democratic activist called the incident the most serious act of voter intimidation he had witnessed in his career.

Rep. Chaka Fattah, a Democrat from Philadelphia, said the Black Panthers "should not have been there." But he said the GOP was making too much out of a fleeting incident involving a couple of people. "The most unethical thing a person can do is make allegations based on absolutely nothing," Fattah said.

You mean like your attacks that Bush lied us into war?

Thanks for the reference. It’s not PC to says but the fact is that no actual birth certificate has been produced. Recently that liberal Gov. of Hawaii announced he would go into the records and produce the document he said he had seen. Well, he came up with NOTHING.

Right - he’s trying to cover up what’s obviously spin by deliberately engaging in ambiguous and vague phraseology.

Right - it’s bad enough when an incompetent president appoints and surrounds himself with capable people. Good advisors can be helpful But here we have the worst of both worlds - an incompetent president surrounding himself with other incompetents!

“Holder may be a racist POS, but he’s not an idiot, so his parsing here was certainly intentional.”

Yep...the only thing he could fall back on is “parsing”. I’m so sick and tired of our government officials being spin doctors...IOW, liars.

“Thus, he’s not arguing that the DOJ’s actions aren’t racist, but rather that there isn’t enough evidence that they are.”

There is where I disagree with you. There is ample video evidence that intimidation, in fact, occurred.

Sometimes, what you see is what you get.

He’s concerned about “his people”...and not the rule of law, or the American people.

Good point and good question. My guess is that his fellow libs are just closing ranks and spouting the party line and hoping they can bluff their way through to 2012. Maybe they’re afraid of being called racists if they criticize him!

Good points. It’s sad but DOJ has become so politicized that it will take years for it to recover - if ever.

That is a very clear admission that his Justice Dept. administers the law based on race and not on Constitutional principles. There is no backing away from a statement like that.

I agree. Too many things have been said and done that have now formed a pattern. It’s not just one or two things but many in the aggregate that have now given us a clear picture of what this regime is and stands for.

I don’t know if there are any criminal statutes that would cover a situation like this but it is so blatantly unethical that lawsuits based on harm to civil rights ought to be slam dunks against this DoJ now. The broad pattern that has now been starkly revealed can be worked by almost any defendant brought to court by a Federal prosecutor. There is no excuse but gross incompetence for any attorney to lose to the DoJ now.

But here we have the worst of both worlds - an incompetent president surrounding himself with other incompetents!

He acts like he got into office without earning the votes, therefore he has no respectful accountability to it. I wonder how that could happen? /S

Holder is a disgrace to his position...He has failed in an epic fashion.

Very true, but more disgraceful is 0bummer's willingness to retain him as AG in the face of his (Holder's) blatant racism. incompetence, and betrayal of "his people," the American people.

Rep. John Culbertson (R-Texas) is not an idiot either but obviously holds his manhood cheap because he did not call Holder on this obvious evasion.

“Holder is a disgrace to his position ....”

Holder is a coward when it comes to talking about race issues.

Of course I could be wrong because I’m just a typical white
person.

There were several warnings when Holder was nominated that his performance was as predictable as the movement of the hands on a clock!
