Obama's 'Where's Waldo?' presidency
Washington Post ^ | March 2, 2011 | Ruth Marcus

For a man who won office talking about change we can believe in, Barack Obama can be a strangely passive president. There are a startling number of occasions in which the president has been missing in action - unwilling, reluctant or late to weigh in on the issue of the moment. He is, too often, more reactive than inspirational, more cautious than forceful.

Each of these instances can be explained on its own terms, as matters of legislative strategy, geopolitical calculation or political prudence.

“Where’s Obama? No matter how hard you look, sometimes he’s impossible to find.”

From the WaPo no less. Maybe buyers remorse finally starting to kick in.

Each of these instances can be explained on its own terms, as matters of legislative strategy, geopolitical calculation or political prudence. Or stunning incompetence.

Fixed it.

“Where’s Waldo” is the worst book on tape I ever bought. It was just
Some guy saying, “There’s a man eating a hotdog, there’s a lady pushing
A baby carriage, there’s Waldo.......”

Barack Obama can be a strangely passive president...And this surprises you why?, Ruth - how many times did he vote "present" while in the Illinois legislature?.....

Who is this person that you refer to as Barack Obaama??

Where did he come from, who were his parents, where did he grow up, how did he get his education, what was he doing before becoming a state senator, what was his voting record, how many days did he sit in the US Senate, how come he has so many unappointed Czars surrounding him, why does he continue to hand out awards in the East Room, when the Arab world is imploding???

OH! It’s That barry Obama, total a hole who has no clue!

Go play some hoops!

That's all he ever did, TALK.

He never DID anything (except campaign, which is basically talking).

Exactly. Now he’s in way over his head, and he can’t talk his way out.

Obummer lives and breathes in an alternative universe, quite isolated from that of any of his predecessors.

He’s easy to find. Monday-at the WH throwing a party with his leftist lemmings, Tuesday-campaigning, Wednesday-see Monday, Thursday- decrying the Constitution is unfair speech, Friday-date night with WOOKIE, Sat/Sun-golf. He can be found you just have to know his itinerary.

“He never DID anything”

Precisely the point. So the “useful idiots” decide that he should be elected president of the USA.

Just because you cross a age threshold, does not mean that you should be entitled to cast a vote.

His stategery is clear. If he’s largely absent, when history looks back at our collapse, he can deny responsibility, blaming all the schlubs he had working for him.
